15 years building software. Security & infra by day. Nights and weekends I build tools with Latin names: Statio, Capsa, Pilum, Vigil. Right now that's Statio: permissions for AI agents, so they can only call the tools you allow. I write up what breaks at https://t.co/rZppyVFAIe
@HunterALanier AI models have already scraped the entire internet. But this feels like breaking TOS somewhere if they will use it as training data, but who can prove it. Regardless this is super cool to help emulators and revive older games!
@rohit3a I’m holding out for local models in the future. Meets the same level as the current models eventually and can run on cheaper hardware. Who knows maybe tower desktops make a comeback as options for local AI
@adocomplete I ran 4 agents on different projects and one of those agents was running for an hour and a half straight (didn’t know it could do this with the loop command going through a plan) and managed to hit it after 4 hours.
@adxtyahq Still guiding AI tbh. There is what the AI knows about coding then there is what the engineer has lived in building and maintaining the systems.
@Yuchenj_UW I believe that engineers who had 7+ years of experience prior to AI becoming main stream are the ones who can utilize it the fastest in deep production systems.
You can't take my terminal away from me though, looks at remote edge server connections. Yup can't AI those guys.
@wuweiweiwu I want to buck this trend of test removal. E2E tests take the absolute longest to run, that's the whole reason why unit tests are great short tests ideally just testing the logic of functions.
But the way other people are introduced into AI is important. There should have been an application that was running within the medical scribe software that could help take notes and summarize and that be stated up front.
We cannot assume everyone is so agreeable to new technology, especially at the rate of advancement.
Humans used to manually do work and calculations. The job title was “computer” popularized by the movie Hidden Figures. The IBM mainframe computer replaced them, what happened, we moved forward, advanced, went onto solve more difficult problems. AI will have the same effect, jobs will change and shift, replace the simple calculations so we can move into solve harder problems.
@tibo_maker Cannot wait to start messing around with short form video content with AI! Will definitely help explain complicated concepts easier. We should be able to improve learning for all different types of learners as well
@h4x0r_dz AI has rapidly sped up the process for vulnerability research. AI can help us remediate CVEs at a faster pace. Downside is AI has made it easier to find CVEs
@YashHustle_22 I think it’s more of a lack of software engineering experience in some cases. Everyone should be getting more familiar with OWASP at this point.
