The 14th Amendment was written for freed slaves. Not for birth tourism. The men who wrote it knew the difference. But apparently the female justices on the Supreme Court do not.
Totally unqualified candidate. To say he exaggerates his role on the Governor’s staff is an understatement. During those terms I served as Carcieri's Director of Constituent Affairs, and Director of Community Relations/Emergency Preparedness. He has had the audacity in taking credit for my hard earned efforts during various forums. Unfit.
An extremely unqualified candidate who can’t articulate anything other than word salad talking points. It’s sad the RIGOP decided to endorse him and it’s sad they couldn’t field one half decent candidate for the Governor race.
Gumpster Fire at the convention last night. Check out the inspiring video on Guckian’s belief system. Endorsing unsuitable candidates (Guckian) hurts our long-term electoral prospects. He still has a primary. Send your money to House and Senate races where it’s useful and needed.
I don’t know the Fung people liked- that was before my time. I’ve only known a petty, jealous little man who couldn’t show basic kindness when it cost him nothing. He abused his power with the police (disqualifying), left his city in financial ruin, then stabbed the Hopkins administration in the back after they spent years cleaning up his mess while covering for him out of loyalty. Now he’s attacking Republicans in the one place the party is functional.
Republicans need a message. If you want to win an election in RI as a Republican you need to actually discuss policy and things you’d change. Pointless videos like this because you think it’s a leg up on your opponent are a waste. No one cares. Tell us how you’ll actually make RI better.
Ken Block demands transparency from everyone else but won’t release his own tax returns.
Not surprising. He’s changed parties more times than Rhode Islanders have hit potholes and rerouted around the Washington Bridge.

@GovDanMcKee has this reservation about RISpeaker Blazejewski's Inspector General bill, per his letter to House Finance: it needs to include the General Assembly.
@LoughlinRI1 is spot on. If the office is truly about transparency, waste, abuse and protecting taxpayer dollars, then no one is above having oversight. Speaker is clearly concerned about audits, accountability, and independent investigations.
Separation of powers prevents one branch from controlling another, not from investigating corruption or misuse of funds. It’s about equal accountability and making sure taxpayers money/resources are being used properly. This is a political excuse by @CBlazejewski.
This is the most Rhode Island thing ever: we all think our state is being mismanaged, and we'll complain about it until we're blue in the face.
However, in the end, we'll never actually vote any differently, even as we expect, and demand, different results from the same party.
Looking at the proposed inspector general office bill that @CBlazejewski put out. The IG office wouldn’t be allowed to investigate the legislative branch. “Monitor the governor and his agency’s, but please don’t hold us accountable for anything.” This is absurd.

"They tried to buy my vote. They couldn't buy it."
Rep. Thomas Massie delivers a fiery speech after losing his reelection bid, accusing powerful forces in Washington of trying for years to take him down.
Massie, who became a regular target of attacks from President Trump, said they "decided to buy the seat" after they couldn't buy his vote.
