Deeply saddened to hear about the death of Kevin Campbell. I had the privilege of watching him play for Arsenal in the early 90s — a cult hero at Highbury, loved by so many in football and beyond. My thoughts are with his friends and family.
It’s great @Everton are safe.
BUT
We will never forget how the @premierleague tried to sacrifice one of England’s oldest and greatest clubs.
I will have more to say on this soon.
I’ve really got to feel for Everton fans tonight. The club took an age to appoint S Dyche then don’t give him one single player in this window to help him keep the club up. 💙
@john33lfc @grbefc @SamanthaTaghoy Totally disagree with this comment. Dean, Southall, Latchford, Sharp, Heath, Ratcliffe, Ball, Kendall, Harvey, Young, Lawton, Lineker, Sheedy, Labone, Reid, Rooney and many many more were quality players. It's simply incorrect to say Everton don't know about quality.
@TheBillaton Furthers great. Zig Zag, which featured only Dashwood and Lines, trying to track down a private eye who had an office like something from a Philip Marlowe film. Barry Appleton wrote some great episodes featuring Dashwood. If his name appeared at the start, as writer, it was good.
@john33lfc@jessphillips John, you have forgotten that Margaret Beckett was labour leader in 1994. She was the first woman to become Foreign Secretary in 2006 of any British party. Only the second woman to hold one of the Great Offices of State.
Angela Rayner Deputy leader of the Labour Party.
