@AynRandy666 Chloe is a threat to whom? She might take some votes off Labour, but she's not going to attract any right-leaning voters across the aisle.
@eccankiwi@MariaSherwood2 Like the process that allowed us to have a say on 3W, and 80,000 people said no, and Mahuta said "oh that doesn't count" and pushed ahead with what she had always been going to do anyway. Doesn't seem like that process provided much protection.
@eccankiwi@MariaSherwood2 Nah that's not entirely correct either. It's only been "exceptional circumstances" previously because usually the panel of experts is selected according to what answer the government of the day has wanted them to provide.
@MareeElvin Do you understand that rates were going to go up under 3W as well? 3W only saved money if it came in on budget, as large infrastructure projects in NZ are famous for doing. At all the early markers it was ~50% over. Look past the advertising spin and see 3W for the lemon it was.
@KylieInTheBluff@_MaccaNZ Te Reo must truly be the most flexible language in the world. Imagine having to get an expert in to find out what you've actually said every time you open your mouth.
@the_salty_one_ I don't know if it will. There's a growing segment of society that, rather than going out and earning their own life, would rather the government just gives them a chunk of yours.
@Feijoa_Chutney@Tauranga2020 Sure they are, but can you please list the alternatives available to farmers in the NZ market that can fulfil the wide range of uses farmers need them for?
