@SoCalCMH@Scottergate@mattblively@KPIXtv I’m a straight white catholic male in the USA, I haven’t been oppressed a single day in my life. But this whole dialogue with all of you shows that it makes some sense that some people feel like vibes aren’t great for them.
@_christian_2000@Rexybt@Scottergate@mattblively@KPIXtv What’s the proper word then?
Registered republican by the way, but I have compassion and a brain. So pretty much everything that party stands for is appalling these days.
@_christian_2000@Scottergate@mattblively@KPIXtv Forced on the fans? No, they could sell their tickets if they are afraid of rainbows. The players? No, they could have worn the normal hats. The fans at home? I struggle to think a broadcast could “force” anything on you. Inclusion, open doors…..diametric to force.
@Scottergate@mattblively@KPIXtv I vehemently disagree with this notion….and a lot of the comments to the original tweet prove that there’s a lot of people who aren’t particularly kind to that group.
But thank you for your service, I appreciate you.
@Scottergate@mattblively@KPIXtv Presenting one single baseball game per season where a specific group, who feel marginalized by society, can come and feel free of judgment and hate…..doesn’t seem too much to ask. Nobody is trying to force their orientation on you. Just want to feel like they belong.
@DankerD_@rswarren27@sportslarryk He made a choice. He didn’t have to wear the hat. Nobody stopped him, nobody is punishing him, nobody is taking away any rights. But people now have a lens into who he is as a person, so if somebody randomly boos him at the grocery store, that’s life.
@DankerD_@rswarren27@sportslarryk I guess my point is that he has two choices: 1) wear a rainbow hat once. Or 2) use a bible verse that explicitly condemns homosexuality and then back it up and show us all he’s homophobic, hiding behind his faith. The fence sitting here is the cowardice I’m taking about.
@EpicHotDogRBX@StinMcKinsey@MickMike76 The verse itself was a condemnation of the logo/hat and the reason behind it. He’s being attacked because he’s a toddler. It’s always insane to me to hear people try to do whataboutism to the afflictions of straight white catholic males.
@rswarren27@DankerD_@sportslarryk Even if what the post above said was true, all he had to do was *wear a hat & play baseball*...the bar to clear here is so unbelievably low. Instead, he chose to put a little back door way of condemning it on his hat, then not have the stones to tell us the real reason. Cowards.
@JackLoder_ The even worse part is that they could just put in the parts of the bible where the verses condemn it strongly. Instead, they signal to the masses that they dont approve of it, but don’t have the stones to do as you suggest, because that verse is only adjacent to the condemnation
@BayAreaBrennan@Baloney_and These weirdos think that every pride event is inappropriate, which is convenient it allows them to lean into bigotry while acting like there is a reason for it.
@SteelCityBucs30 I’m not sure why Yankees fans are getting upset at Jones slander. We all know he’s a fringe starter at best with all these strikeouts.
@michelleinblue@SNETCampbell I mean, when you don’t strike out, balls in play happen more often, so it’s going to feel like that, from his perspective.
