Why is Israel getting blamed for trying to protect its citizens from hezbollah attacks? Iran funds and arms hezbollah, encourages them to kill israelis in israel and then blames israel for defending its own citizens. We should be focusing our anger on the iranian dictatorship not on a democracy fighting to protect its citizens
@5149jamesli I’m an American Jew who served in the United States Marine Corps in Operation Enduring Freedom. There are many just like me. Your post is awful.
This book is provocative, serious, and anticipated decades earlier the contemporary turn in the global history of fascism - especially focus on fascist or authoritarian internationals. Whatever the author became, here, should be separated from the achievement.

I turned down $300,000/yr to join the Marines and serve in the Infantry.
Worst financial decision of my life, best overall decision of my life.
I wouldn’t take it back, wish I was on that MEU right now, and would give anything to be back in the fight.
@CynicalPublius I was a Marine Logistics Officer running convoys in Helmand and can attest to the morale boost from the deliveries of frozen lobster tails and mediocre ribeye steaks
He was 💯 right and will soon be proven so.
But as Simone would tell you a hundred times if she weren’t modest, his wisdom extended far beyond Iran. He was an important warrior in defeating the Soviet Union. And understood the danger of fascism as well as anyone.
The man simply embodied the concept of freedom.
Michael Ledeen: “Faster, Please”.
From 2005. Sorry for the long wait Michael. And I’m sorry it didn’t come in time for you to see it personally.

I've spent the last few months as a distinguished fellow at @uaustinorg, so let me tell you what's really going on: They have brilliant, inquisitive students who are interested in getting an education, not admission to the mirthless but moneyed meritocracy. These kids could've gotten into Harvard or anywhere else, but they chose Austin for a reason.
They have dedicated, passionate professors who actually foster critical thinking and treat their students like capable adults rather than like coddled toddlers.
They have steely, incomparable leaders who do not waver in their commitment to western civilization and who understand that the role of an American university is first and foremost to fashion Americans eager to go out there and repay the debt we all owe this great country by inventing new technologies and preserving venerable and ancient ideas and traditions.
In short, they have what no other university in America has, and I'm damn proud to be a part of this project.
And if you don't believe the hype, just remember that the nabobs now putting it down have spent the last decade or so literally lying to you about everything else.
