Education is 100% replacable by AI if education is understood as downloading information. In fact, it can probably do that job much better.
But if education is fundamentally about formation, the cultivation of the right affections, a deep love of God, family, and country, and a relentless pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty, AI doesn’t stand a chance. Only inspirational teachers, can do that.
We tell our girls that generosity is "sharing what you love."
Bellingham could have broken a record just now, but instead, he gave the chance to Saka to get a hat trick.
And then he celebrated alongside him with the biggest smile.
One of the best moments of the cup.
We've entered an era of VAR when you can have a goal disallowed for a hair touching the ball but give someone a whack off the ball and you'll get away with it.
Truly special stuff.

Feast your eyes on not just the goal of this World Cup, but one of the best goals in World Cup history. Consider the stakes, the moment, the technique. Are you kidding me?!? 🇨🇻
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers… neither height nor depth, NOR ANYTHING ELSE IN ALL CREATION, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
CJ Stroud on if God is blessing the Texans because of their testimony:
“I don’t want it to ever be confused, I don’t think God is like ‘the Texans are gunna win.’, but I think regardless, win or loss he gets the glory, and that’s up to us, that’s just worship. Him giving us our talents, abilities, & these jobs, he’s more than worthy of all the worship is really why we do what we do. It’s not because we want favor from the lord. In my opinion, you don’t just get favor from the lord just because you give him glory, he deserves it. It’s not because we follow Jesus that we win every game.”
CS Lewis on why men in our times don't have the strength of the hills:
“[Tolkien] once remarked to me that the feeling about home must have been quite different in the days when a family had fed on the produce of the same few miles of country for six generations, and that perhaps this was why they saw nymphs in the fountains and dryads in the woods—they were not mistake for there was in a sense a real (not metaphorical) connexion between them and the countryside. What had been earth and air & later corn, and later still bread, really was in them. We of course who live on a standardised international diet (you may have had Canadian flour, English meat, Scotch oatmeal, African oranges, & Australian wine today) are really artificial beings and have no connection (save in sentiment) with any place on earth. We are synthetic men, uprooted. The strength of the hills is not ours.”
When things are moving very fast and people are losing their minds, it’s important to stay grounded. Turn off your phone, read scripture, spend time with friends, and remember internet fury is not real life. It’s going to be ok.
#1 new release! Thanks, readers! If you like the book, please do review it. We might encourage the church to spend less time on screens and more time loving the Word and words again!
Humans who are learning sanctification have to be learning to look at each other with love, not lust. Telling people not to look doesn't fix lust. Retraining the way we look through the power of the Spirit does.
Whenever I am with students I want to say, and often do say: The statistics tell us you are experiencing extraordinary levels of anxiety, depression, and loneliness. That is not because you are unhealthy people in a normal world. You are normal people in an unhealthy world.
A good poem reminds us of love because it cannot be written or read in distraction; it cannot be written or understood by anyone thinking of praise or publication or promotion.
