@rajatsuri@txsalth2o Can confirm. Have 3 kids- ages 15, nearly 17, and nearly 19. My favorite ages so far, and I suspect it will only get better. Not necessarily easy, but it’s incredibly fun and rewarding.
@HannahPosted So easy to spend that much. We spend a bit more than that each month- 3 teenagers (2 are athletes and eat nonstop), my husband, and me. We don’t eat out much and eat a lot of organic/high quality foods, but we also don’t eat much meat.
Not enough adults are understanding that they have to create moments of happiness in their lives. Find things to be excited about. Create plans to look forward to. Decorate the house during holidays. Make a playlist you only listen to on Tuesdays. Keep your favorite snacks stocked in case of a bad day. You have more control over your joy than you think.

@emilykmay The teen years are absolutely my favorite years. I have three teens right now and while it’s not a breeze all the time, I feel like I’m so much better at parenting this stage than the previous stages. (and it’s so much more fun).
@alexisohanian This is so cool. My 16 year old daughter is a distance track runner with big aspirations for her future in the sport, and she’s so excited about this news of the 776 Invitational.
Olympic bronze medalist @itsgabbyt and @alexisohanian of @SevenSevenSix announced early plans for the 776 Invitational – a women’s-only track event – in September.
According to a report by Sportico, the meet will feature several races with winners taking home $60,000; second place gets $25,000 and third place earns $10,000. That's all more than the Diamond League offers for individual meets.
Ohanian has been a major proponent and advocate for women’s sports as an owner of @weareangelcity and just announced an investment in @TheSportsBraPDX (a Portland bar that is dedicated to showing women’s sports on their TVs).
@ajlamesa My teen daughter and her friends (distance runners) like it and eat there regularly- fairly nutritious and filling compared to many other fast food places
This is smart & thoughtful. But the answer to the riddle of why parenthood is presented as such a slog isn’t hard. Children are, in many ways, the ultimate in deferred gratification. We live in a society – make that a world -- that encourages immediate satisfaction of whims. 1/
@JillFilipovic 💯 I am constantly telling my family how I hate having our tv in a visible spot. If it were solely up to me, we’d have it hidden away in the basement. But I love my quartz countertops.
@dailey5_sean Yeah, my son has focal seizures and when I saw the video, that’s exactly what it looked like to me too. (But I’m not a doctor and probably shouldn’t be passing out diagnoses… just a mom with some ptsd from seeing a lot of seizures.)
@NateSilver538 View flying into Portland this month. Nearly everyone else on the plane missed it with their shades down. 🤯 (Except those seated around me, because I obnoxiously pointed it out to everyone in earshot, because people need to feel awe at least now and then)
@ajlamesa Either a bad attempt at re-writing history or complete ignorance. My kids only went in-person for 17 days in the first 18 months of Covid, similar to hundreds of thousands of other Virginia public school kids.
