⚠️The junta continues to carry out airstrikes on villages in the Win Tar Pan area of Bilin Township, Mon State, causing further harm to civilians and damage to homes, according to a source from Thaton District.
The attacks took place in Win Tar Pan village tract, Bilin Township, in an area under Karen National Union Brigade 1. Local sources said that while KNU joint forces are attempting to seize the Win Tar Pan military camp, the Junta has repeatedly launched airstrikes on nearby villages that are not directly connected to the fighting.
On April 22, the Junta used a Y-12 aircraft to drop 35 bombs on Kyauk Phyar village, Win Tar Pan village, Upper Win Tar Pan village, and surrounding areas. The airstrikes damaged civilian homes and spread fear among local residents.
Earlier, on April 19, the military also carried out another airstrike in the same area, dropping 26 bombs on Win Tar Pan, Upper Win Tar Pan, and Kyauk Phyar villages. That attack also destroyed the villagers’ houses.
The escalation comes after KNU joint forces captured the Lay Kay military camp on April 12. The camp is located about nine miles from the Win Tar Pan military camp.
Fighting in the area remains ongoing as the Junta continues to reinforce its troops, while resistance forces keep up attacks on the Win Tar Pan camp. For civilians living nearby, the repeated airstrikes have deepened fear and insecurity, especially as homes and villages continue to be targeted.
#Myanmar's junta is desperate to launder its image internationally through sham elections, token amnesties & fake peace offers.
Meanwhile, it escalates its nationwide scorched-earth campaign against civilians with total impunity.
