Amazing how close this fire got to homes in South Boulder. That red line is fire retardant.
All evacuation orders for #NCARFire were lifted at 5pm. We saw sprinklers still running at homes a day later.
One evacuee left multiple propane tanks out on the street before leaving.
Press conference takeaways: Forward progress of the fire has been stopped. 35% containment—will go up rapidly. Smoke will be visible for the next week. Helicopters are used at this stage because they more accurately pinpoint where water is dropped.#NCARfire#boulderfire#Boulder
Huge shout out to the first responders who have kept the #NCARFire in check, protected our South Boulder homes, and helped us evacuate safely. We are grateful!
A lot of good work was done on the #NCARFire today and a lot of houses were saved. My crew was pulled off around 11:30pm. We'll be on the fire again at 8am tomorrow.
I stayed at my house in South Boulder all day during the #ncarfire to water things down and watch the progress of the fire as it went across the mountain. Thanks to the Boulder firefighters who pulled miles of heavy hoses across the landscape today. #boulderstrong
