At just 19 years old, Peter Aldridge had already become someone others looked up to.

A Rifleman with A Company, 4th Battalion The Rifles, Peter was known for his determination, humour, and professionalism.

He volunteered to become his section's lead man after a comrade was killed, taking on one of the most dangerous roles on patrol by helping lead his section through ground threatened by improvised explosive devices.

On 22 January 2010, while on a foot patrol near Sangin, Helmand Province, Peter was killed in an explosion during an operation to provide security for the local population.

He was just 19 years old but he was brave Rifleman. A natural leader. Forever remembered 🌹🇬🇧
