It was wonderful meeting many of our #GI26 Featured Voices in person! A huge ‘thank you’ to ALL of you for lending your time & expertise to help digest symposium findings and provide key takeaways. We couldn’t do it without you!
Agree with @jgong15. Good to see studies and investigators doing the right thing and reevaluating continuation of studies when new data becomes available and standards of care changes. Putting patients first is key. @ASCO#GI26
Dr. Max rand PhIII COMMIT @NRGonc of #1L#atezo +/- FOLFOX in #MSI-H #mCRC ➡️ improved PFS median 24.5 vs 5.3 mos, immature OS, ORR 36.1 vs 18.9% FOLFOX-atezo vs atezo, respectively. Note, study closed after CM-8HW after 102 pts accrued (right thing to do)
@OncoAlert#GI26
Impressive follow up results from Breakwater showing promising OS trend with combination therapy for an aggressive CRC population. How to further improve giving already at quadruple therapy combination. Novel mechanisms of action needed for the future. @ASCO#GI26
Very interesting findings presented @ASCO#GI26. Could GLP1 have different effects on different GI cancers?Some preclinical data in NETs have shown some possibility of increased risk. Definitely an area of interest to watch out for moving forward.
Promising news from #GI26: Popular weight-loss drugs may have the added benefit of reducing #ColorectalCancer risk.

#GI26 Provocative but insightful recommendations on how to select patients for LIVER #Transplant for patients with unresectable liver metastases.
Liver transplant is here to stay. Early selection is of value. But dogmas e.g. no BRAFV600E or N2 need to be challenged.
@OncoAlert
Standing room only for this @ASCO#GI26 session on optimizing management of persons with #HCC and decomp #cirrhosis
We spoke about achieving good cancer outcomes with bad livers with co panelists Drs. @BeauToskichMD Stephen Lam Chan and Ana Gleisner.
#livertwitter
ABC-HCC in intermediate #HCC showing early time to treatment failure benefit with atezo bev versus TACE. If OS can be shown to be positive, a change of strategy from upfront liver directed therapy to saving it at progression to systemic therapy may be preferred. #GI26@ASCO
keynote 937 negative study for adjuvant #HCC in line with prior results from IMbrave 050. Unfortunately, still lack of positive #HCC trials. Novel strategies needed since given uniqueness of HCC adjuvant population and underlying cirrhosis. #GI26@ASCO
Impressive waterfall plot for lirafugratinib 46.5% ORR in FGFR2 positive BTC including 22% in previously treated FGFR2 targeted therapy pts. Trade offs of toxicity with lira compared to other FGFR2 agents. Sequencing studies now needed in the field. #GI26@ASCO
Great contrasting presentations by Dr. Lucjan Wyrwicz and Dr. Naruhiko Ikoma to help figure out the best way to approach resectable MSI-H gastric cancer
@ASCO#GI26@DanengLi@DaniCastilloMD
Great discussion by Dr. Daniel Lin. For Herizon study, agree with outdated comparator arm is big limitation so big question now is who would actually use it if our current SOC is not truly represented. @ASCO#GI26
ASCO #GI26 Valuable studies emphasize the value of incorporating XRT into the perioperative setting. Appropriate patient selection is crucial, considering tumor biology and QoL, Engaging in MDT discussions is essential, with the overarching goal of improving OS while ensuring that QoL is not compromised @gagan_brar24@SteveMaronMD@jgong15@daneng li
Looking forward to providing perspectives on all the amazing work to be shared at #GI26@ASCO. Excited to work with such a wonderful group of colleagues, researchers, and advocates.
