This week, P1 thought about acts of kindness and how we can make the people in our lives feel special. Here are two examples: helping our teacher and being kind to our friend ❤ @DanestoneP@EmotionWorksCIC
Linking maths and Emotion Works. We have been learning about the importance of being kind, empathetic & ‘reaching out’ to others. We created bar graphs to show the number of food parcels given out from a local food bank & discussed the importance of this resource. @DanestoneP
We are feeling a range of emotions in P2/3 today! We're excited, grumpy, happy, sleepy, bored and relaxed. We thought about triggers, behaviour and whether or not we want to change our feelings (some of us are already VERY excited for Christmas)! @DanestoneP@EmotionWorksCIC
This week, P1/2 watched a story about a character who is excited. We thought about what makes us feel excited and how that shows in their bodies and faces. Lots of us are excited for Christmas! @DanestoneW@EmotionWorksCIC#orangecog#redcog
P2/3 have been learning about the grey intensity cog. They decided that "intensity is how strong your feelings are", then coloured in wellbeing wheels linked to SHANARRI indicators, e.g. I feel safe, I feel valued. @EmotionWorksCIC#shanarri
This week, P1 played a game to remember the names of the different cogs by running to coloured cones. Then they chose one cog and drew chalk pictures to match it @EmotionWorksCIC
P2/3 thought about the blue cog this week. They worked in pairs to write their strategies for being calm, then created these pretty flowers for their class HWB display. #EmotionworksCIC
This week in P1/2, we have been reminding ourselves about what the different cogs mean. We worked in groups to decorate a cog for our class display #EmotionworksCIC
As part of our Life and Ethos work, P1/2 are asking everyone to design a Rights mascot for our school. The challenge is to include as many Rights in your design as you can. Here are some of our examples. #RRSA#danestonedoesrights@danestonep
Primary 5 created ‘gratitude suns’ showing what they are grateful for. We were focusing on the yellow trigger cog and discussing what makes us feel physically and mentally good. @DanestoneP@DanestoneW ⚙️☀️

In P1 this week, we read the story 'From My Window', about a little chick stuck inside his coop. We thought about how lockdown made us feel and who we can talk to if we're worried. We all have special people in our lives ❤ @EmotionWorksCIC
The children today received an online talk and presentation from The Blue Cross about dog safety. The children engaged really well and enjoyed the interactive questions. @The_Blue_Cross@DanestoneP
Through Emotion Works this week, P1 have been learning a poem about manners and kindness. We added the Makaton signs for 'please' and 'thank you'. We also made a poster to show ways in which we are kind😌

Primary 6 and 7 have been using the @Disney Pixar animation ‘Piper’ to create emotional rollercoasters! They added the triggers, emotion words and behaviours to their pictures. #successfullearners@DanestoneP
Primary 5 enjoyed performing some dramatic freeze frames based on emotive scenarios. We used some new & old vocabulary to widen our knowledge of emotion words. @danestonp #EmotionworksCIC
Primary 7 have been putting their best drama skills to the test while creating some freeze frames! We discussed how we can show emotions using our faces, and named lots of emotion words in the process. Some real actors and actresses in this class! @DanestoneP@DanestoneW
Today P4 discussed the variety of different emotions they could feel in 1 day. We thought of the orange cog, the yellow cog and the green cog and created ‘Emoji art’. @DanestoneP#EmotionworksCIC
