Today, as a proud daughter of the soil, I joined my brothers and sisters working at the Koidu Limited Mining Company in Kono Town to peacefully protest. Our collective action aimed to urge Koidu Limited to enhance working conditions and provide better services for all employees.
The key demands of our protest included the recognition of the union, living allowances, a 30% salary increment, overtime compensation, the provision of incentives, access to safe drinking water, and freedom of financial choice, to name but a few.
This protest is a call to action for the company to improve the working conditions and provide better services. We believe that these demands are reasonable and essential for maintaining the well-being and dignity of workers.
We hope that the company will take these demands seriously and engage with us in good faith to find solutions that benefit both the company and its employees. We will continue to fight, and we are confident that our collective action will bring about positive change.

I had the pleasure of visiting Steven Kuiper at Demoss Farm in Iowa during the corn harvest of his 80-acre operation. I was truly impressed by how Steven has embraced mechanization to enhance productivity on his farm.
Iowa is critical in our drive to deliver on our Feed Salone agenda, considering the expertise we mobilize to support our efforts to transform our arable lands to high yield crop farms. Our goal is to foster inclusive growth, increase local food production, decrease our reliance on food imports, combat hunger, boost export revenues, create job opportunities, and develop a resilient food system.
I extend my gratitude to the leadership of Iowa Corn for the fruitful engagement, and I look forward to establishing a sustainable partnership to support our Feed Salone initiative.
Today, I joined farmers from all over Sierra Leone and our development partners to celebrate World Food Day and mark the first year of the Feed Salone Programme.
In the past year, we have achieved remarkable milestones, such as increased rice production, enhanced support for farmers, and improvements in infrastructure. However, there is still much more to accomplish. Today, I was genuinely inspired by the passion of the farmers as I toured the various exhibits and booths representing different districts, projects, and agricultural organizations.
I urge everyone to continue their support for the Feed Salone Programme. As I frequently emphasize, through this initiative, we are dedicated not only to boosting productivity and minimizing import reliance but also to creating sustainable opportunities for all Sierra Leoneans.
Under the high patronage of His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (@KingSalman), The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, I joined other World Leaders from #Africa for the maiden edition of the #SaudiAfricaSummit in Riyadh, Kingdom of #SaudiArabia.
In my Address at the Summit, I reiterated the timeliness of the Summit to enhance political coordination between the Kingdom and Africa, fostering joint actions, economic development, and investment cooperation.
I conveyed #SierraLeoneโs readiness to strengthen trade and diplomatic ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Arab world and other African nations.
My Government looks forward to exploring avenues of strategic cooperation that aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the @_AfricanUnionโs Agenda 2063 and my Governmentโs Big Five national development priorities.
I also assured the August gathering that as Sierra Leone takes its non-permanent seat at the United Nations #SecurityCouncil as a post-conflict nation for the 2024-2025 term, we are deeply aware of our shared duty to uphold international peace and security.

On behalf of my family, the Government and the good people of #SierraLeone, I join family, friends and well-wishers in extending my warmest birthday wishes to the Former President, His Excellency @ebklegacy on his 70th Birthday.
Today, I joined the @UN Secretary-General @antonioguterres, #UN General Assembly President Dennis Francis, Her Highness Sheikha Moza bin Nasser, Chairperson of @EAA_Foundation, victims of attacks on education, and other key stakeholders as the Keynote Speaker at the High-level Observance of the Fourth International Day to Protect Education from Attack.
It was the opportunity to share insights on the attack on education caused by the regrettable decade-long civil war in #SierraLeone and the positive strides we've made to protect #education and get โJustice for Victimsโ.
I highlighted the crucial role of education in nation-building and resilience and urged the global community to #unite, #protect, and prioritise education for every child, especially in conflict zones.
My Government continues to pursue universal access to education in a safe environment as a fundamental human right. Our data-driven policies and actions on education and radical inclusion have continued to gain global traction, and we will redouble efforts towards building our human capital base through our Free Quality School Education Programme. ๐ธ๐ฑ๐๐
