#Eritrea's senior delegation composed of Mr. Hagos Gebrehiwet, Head of Economic Affairs; and, Mr. Nesredin Mohammed Saleh, Minister of Trade and Industry, today met in Cairo with Dr. Badr Abdellaty, Eygpt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Expatriates; and, with Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, the Minister of Transport, respectively, for extensive talks on bilateral and regional matters.
In this regard, the two sides assessed progress achieved to-date in the sectors and areas of mutual bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on next steps.
Specific themes addressed in the extensive discussions include: enhancement of investment and trade on construction equipment and materials; medicaments; agricultural produce; marine resources; and, maritime transport.
Here is the drama orchestrated by Abiy and the #UAE to dominate the news cycle over the past few days, manufacture a narrative for the international community that #Eritrea has invaded #Ethiopian territory, and create a pretext for a possible invasion of Eritrea.
Abiy has allowed only Mohamed Taha Tewekel (Aljezeera) to operate as a journalist in the middle of the fighting, even as artillery was being fired around him. Other journalists have not been given comparable access to the country, let alone to the battlefield.
The reason is that Mohamed Taha Tewekel is an #Eritrean journalist with a long-standing hostile position towards Eritrea. His previous reporting and public record can be examined independently. He is the journalist who reported that Eritrean forces had entered Ethiopian territory and were actively pursuing the regional Afar forces.
The other actor in this narrative is Awol Arba, who is a puppet of Abiy and has compromised the Afar people for personal benefit. Awol was the person who publicly announced that Eritrean forces were inside #Ethiopia.
No evidence was presented to support these allegations, yet several media outlets, particularly in the Middle East, carried the claims as news.
Thankfully, most major international news organisations have so far refrained from reporting the allegations as established fact. Whether they will eventually pick up the story remains to be seen.

We did not defeat the Derg because we were many. We defeated it because we had a vision, principles, discipline, and the will to endure.
1 against 10. An ant against an elephant.
It sounds impossible—until history proves otherwise.
We never sought war. But when war was brought to us, we knew how to see it through to the end.
Outnumbered, never outmatched. 🇪🇷✊🏽

The failed outgoing President Hassan sheikh risks leading #Somalia toward greater instability and disaster. Rather than strengthening the foundations of the country, his actions are contributing to their erosion. He is introducing other leaders to the use of F-16s, drones, and other advanced military technologies, while also creating new methods that could deepen corruption among Somali political leaders and warlords.
Somalia’s internal conflict appears to be evolving from the use of traditional weapons such as AK-47s toward increasingly sophisticated military technology. If this trend continues, there is a risk that warlords and terrorist groups could eventually gain access to similar technologies.
Turkey 🇹🇷 is bringing some of the latest military equipment and technology to Somalia, but there are serious concerns about how these capabilities are being used. Critics argue that instead of being focused primarily on defeating Al-Shabaab, some of these weapons and technologies are resulting in civilian casualties.
🚨 BREAKING:
Jewish American orthopedic surgeon Dr. Mark Perlmutter testifies that Israeli snipers deliberately target Palestinian children, often shooting them in the head and chest.
A few years back, Getachew Reda was asked, “How long can Abiy possibly stay in power?” His answer was once again eerily candid. He described Abiy as a “bandit who got power by mistake,” and said that while we are defending Tigray, if doing so also shortened Abiy’s time in power, “so be it.”
#EthiopiaWatch🇪🇹: Last week, PM Abiy's government suspended Tigrai TV "indefinitely." This week, phone and internet service across Tigray have gone dark.
This is the handiwork of a Nobel Peace laureate.
WELCOME TO CENSORSHIP IN ETHIOPIA.
Dr. Robel Alemu, Senior Analyst and Communications Director, provided important context and analysis on crisis in Ethiopia — the existential war facing the Amhara people. His depth of knowledge, clarity, and ability to articulate the issues were truly impressive.
A very impressive and brilliant speaker! 👏🏾 @TheFitawrari
