Excited to be heading to NYC for our second annual Long Island Sound Community Impact Fund Learning Exchange and meeting our grant partners in the region. Appreciate the support of EPA's Long Island Sound Program for helping to make this happen.

BEA/NOAA released a report "U.S. marine economy continues to empower American prosperity." However, remember that many of these benefits only exist with healthy and functioning ecosystems that require protection & investment.

@ReaganITCDC@marinesanctuary Great to see the participation of so many federal agencies, NGOs and corporations. Our continued collaboration is essential to addressing the multiple threats facing our coasts and oceans. #CHOW2025
@SciDiplomacyUSA@marinesanctuary So glad to see the State Department participate in #CHOW2025. US fisheries depend on science-based governance and functioning ecosystems, all of which require the collaboration of our federal agencies, informed by the best science, policy, and economics.
Congrats to Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA) and Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) for their recognition as 2025 Ocean Awards Honorees at #CHOW2025. Thank you for the work you do for our coasts.
I hope to see you at Capital Hill Ocean Week aka CHOW and get out to support the great work of the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation and their partners

Billion-dollar disasters are on the rise, largely due to climate change. According to Pew, most Americans know it. Now NOAA will turn off this source of information and leave us less informed and less safe. They can bury the news on the consequences, but we know the cause.
Selling long-term assets to pay for short-term costs is not good fiscal stewardship. There needs to be better management of our public lands, but selling them is not the solution.
