I think this has probably shocked me more than anything else.
The Times ran multiple ads trashing Jason Arday. This one reached 195,746 people & ran until Aug 16 - today.
There’s a rearguard action to defend journalism. But this isn’t journalism. It’s monetised racebait.
This is an antisemitic hatchet job, not only on Zack Polanski but on every British Jew who opposes Israel's well documented war crimes.
For anyone wishing to complain, The Economist is an unregulated member of the free press, so good luck with that.
Ben-Gvir runs police, prisons, border police, the fire and rescue service, is a senior minister and a member of the security cabinet which makes all crucial security decisions for Israel and has vetoed ceasefires repeatedly. But other than that he has no influence.
The full quote is even more disgusting:
“I think targeted assassinations should be carried out in Gaza, taking down 30 to 40 every night. Not just those who pose an immediate threat – there are people there who are not worthy of life. They shouldn’t live. They’re not even people.”
btw data centres have 0 limit on how much water they can use!!! ppl out of work bc they cant car wash or window wash and considering the government is pushing the whole people rely on benefits arguments but lets force ppl out of jobs for data centres😍
It’s time we sorted out the press.
Constant misinformation to protect their donors and fossil fuels is destroying lives and our planet.
The Government must step up and stop being cowardly.
“I did a leg amputation on a 5-year-old girl, and the only anesthesia that we had was the anesthesia doctor singing to her… We were praying for her to faint. She stayed awake the whole amputation.”
Absolutely devastating testimony from doctors in Gaza.
In the last two weeks the UK has been hit by over 200 wildfires. Rare habitats wiped out, homes gone, water shortages. And all the government has done was send an alert and ban barbecues. The beautiful countryside I grew up in is burning and still we’re pandering to oil companies
A government treating climate change seriously would:
🚒 recruit more firefighters, paid and equipped properly, reopen closed stations
🛢️no new licenses for oil and gas, definitely no fracking or “clean coal”
⚡️ decarbonise existing energy system (~10% reduction yoy)
🦫 extensive beaver Rewilding programme + other flood strengthening of infrastructure
🍎 build council small holdings, in pursuit of food sovereignty
🐄 big reduction of meat in diets
🌾 total rethink of agricultural economics + subsidies
Only Israel can invade, occupy and bomb 3 different countries simultaneously — Palestine, Lebanon and Syria — and still have Western media portray it as the victim.
