Findings suggest CI-AP and cSP may be useful markers of acute responses to repetitive, non-concussive head impacts, i.e. controlled football headers. โฝ๐ง
However, further confirmatory research is required.

[3/3] We know too much now about the long-term effects of head injury to ignore. More can be done to prevent the frequency of these injuries, and perhaps that starts with our definition of "what teamwork is all about"
[1/3] The sad passing of Troy Selwood has brought light to the topic of #concussion and brain injury across contact sports. Watching this clip from the #7NEWS story last night, it's apparent that longstanding attitudes which glorify such acts of "teamwork" are due for revision...
[2/3] Perhaps through a change in attitude (of what a coach/teammate expects from the athlete) and a focus on protective technique, there could be fewer examples of traumatic brain injuries on the field...
Smart-ball technology will be introduced into the upcoming @aflwomens season, to provide score assist officials with alerts when the footy crossed the goal line, hits the post or is touched in flight.
