@JuleezaS @techteach_csub Hi Juleeza! I like that you thought of using Prezi for scaffolding. Guiding visual learners toward a better understanding of literacy concepts using Prezi will hopefully be good in helping them to build their literacy skills.
@techteach_csub Using Prezi as a means for a Literacy lesson can be very engaging for the students. Having visuals to go along with say, short stories and vocabulary terms, can help students retain narrative elements and meanings better than only reading them #EDTE4100Fall2020TC12
@JuleezaS @techteach_csub Hi Juleeza! I like Nearpod for assessment too. It gives students the mulitple means of expression that you mentioned. Monitoring the student progress is great too because teachers could use it for summative assessment as well.
@techteach_csub Personally, I would use Google Form to do a formative and summative assessment. It's so simple and quick for students to use so doing them before and after lessons is a good way to prime and review information for students . #EDTE4100Fall2020TC11
@JHines10347508@techteach_csub Hi Jennifer! I dont think thats strange at all, Youtube is such a great resource for reviewing material and independent practice. Encouraging students to use Youtube as a study tool instead of just their usual entertainment I think is a worthwhile effort.
@techteach_csub I would use Brainpop as a resource to improve student study skills. There are many games for different subjects that can be assigned to review concepts from my lessons. There are also many modules that focus entirely on improving study habits. #EDTE4100FALL2020TC10
@rouse_tabetha@techteach_csub Hi Tabetha! That's such a great idea to have students practice their working memory skills with Google Forms. Maybe we could have students watch a video and respond to questions about specific details like item orders or
phonological loops.
#EDTE4100FALL2020TC9
@techteach_csub Google Forms can be used as an interactive way to assess students' comprehension while giving lessons. Priming students with critical thinking questions through Forms will be a great way to prepare them for upcoming assessments. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC9
@ash_calderon_ @techteach_csub That's a great idea! Puzzles like an escape room could be an awesome way for the students to cooperate. Teachers could have students answer questions from a lesson to recieve clues or exit certain rooms.
@techteach_csub I would use Google slides during my lessons to encourage student participation. There could be interactive slides with games, videos, and options to encourage cooperative learning like working with a partner.

@AmandaJSulli @techteach_csub Hey Amanda. I love using Kahoot with my classes. I usually make them earn it by already behaving throughout the week, but they usually enjoy the competition and earning the rewards I give them afterward. I give them the option of teaming up so that they learn to cooperate too!
@techteach_csub I have seen teachers use Classdojo as a way of improving motivation &behavior. It's a great way to connect with the students and their parents. Students can be reinforced for their positive behavior with the point system, and parents can track their progress. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC7
@lopezsarabeth@techteach_csub I agree! I think having students organize their schedule can help with both academic and behavioral struggles. Having them complete the routine of filling their calendar may also provide them with a sense of accomplishment and accountability. #EDTE4100FALL2020TC6
@techteach_csub I really like the idea of using Google Calendar to keep students on track academically. Having them track and write down their assignments that are due would help them be organized which is good for their behavior, as well as keeping parents in the loop.

@AmandaJSulli @techteach_csub Hi Amanda. I think teaching subjects like history with visual stimuli is almost a necessity for all students. The technological boom of these past few decades may make understanding historical objects and events difficult without use of visuals. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC5
@techteach_csub Using slides can be a great way to differentiate instruction for visual learners. Slides can include many different visual models for accommodation like videos, maps, charts, and even mini-games. Slides also allows the teacher to focus the material visually.
#EDTE4100Fall2020TC5
@rouse_tabetha@techteach_csub Yes! As Khan said, we must let go the "cookie cutter" method of instruction and understand that students learning at their own pace is a good thing. Differentiation in instruction is a great step in accommodating students.
#EDTE4100Fall2020TC4
@techteach_csub Khan Academy can be used to differentiate instruction and allow teachers to priortize the needs of their students through the lesson plan. Students who have mastered the material can go on to a higher level or even provide support for students who need it.

@JHines10347508@techteach_csub Hey Jennifer. That's cool that you thought of that. Technology does seem to take off some of the pressure of the classroom sometimes. Flipgrid could help those students express themselves without the emotional distress that class discussion causes for them. #EDTE4100Fall2020TC3
@techteach_csub Flipgrid could definitely operate as a flexible means of expression for students with lower-incidence disabilities. Posting a video to respond to a classmate is a cool way for them to collaborate if one struggles with reading a classmates written response.
