@freganmitts I write this as I am grading papers wherein some students clearly took notes on lectures and apparently did some reading, then gave their notes to an LLM to construct an essay. They can say "but AI just helped me organize my thoughts." To which I say no, you plagiarized.

@moshik_temkin @ZhangTaisu At the Ivies, yes, but at R2 state universities, teaching definitely matters, more than it should. I love/hate teaching but, whatever, I find it taxing to be nice when no one reads the assignment. But I must be.

@SohrabAhmari Hundreds of awesome old books await. We still read every night to my 11-year old daughter (who reads voraciously herself). When we find racist tropes, we note them with sarcasm. The story arcs are worth it.
