Day 11 of building a $2,500/month editing business.
Found a trading breakdown with solid insights, but the delivery was dragging. Tightened it up, removed the dead air, re arranged it so the hook is scroll stopping and let the value speak for itself
Sometimes the best edit is the one you don't notice.
Found this vid from @_Ash_Trades_ β thought I'd try a different pace on it. No shade, just practice.
If you're a trading creator, DM me 'SHORTS' and I'll show you what I can do.
Day 12 of building my $2,500 editing business. I just closed my first paying client.
Writing this while it's still fresh, not for the flex, just the honest version of how it actually happened.
12 days ago I had 0 followers and a Carrd nobody had seen. Before this I'd tried ecommerce, campus delivery, a food business, forex, content, all half-built, none of them stuck the way I wanted.
This time I picked one thing: editing long-form trading content into Shorts. Not because it was exciting, because it's a real, specific problem creators actually pay to solve.
The first two weeks were just outreach. Watching hours of streams and podcasts. Pulling exact timestamps. Sending DMs built around one specific line a creator said, not "hey I edit videos." Most of it got ignored. That's normal. Kept sending anyway.
Yesterday one of those DMs turned into a retainer. Not a big deal to anyone else. But it's the first dollar this exact model has made me, and that matters more than the number itself.
Speaking of the number, I'll be honest about it, because the polished version of this story helps no one. That client puts me at $400/month right now. My actual goal is $2,500/month.
I'm not there. Not close, on paper. But 12 days ago the number was $0, and there was no path to $400, let alone $2,500. Now there's a repeatable process that got me here once, which means it can get me here again.
That's the real milestone. Not the $400. The fact that the system worked once, on a 12-day-old account, with a process I can just run again.
If you're early in whatever you're building, trading, editing, content, anything, the gap between $0 and something is the hardest part. If it feels slow right now, you're in it.
Building this in public from here. If you're a trading creator sitting on long-form content that isn't getting repurposed, that's exactly what I do. Happy to send over a free sample edit.
@_Ash_Trades_ I'm still early in my journey, i'm Still learning and Still making mistakes. But its The freedom part that keeps me going.
Thanks for this. Screen-shotted.
@_Ash_Trades_ This.
The "why" is what keeps you going when the charts aren't.
For me: freedom, family, and building something that lasts. The losing days don't hit the same when you know why you're in the game.
@ThiccTeddy Caveman knew what he was doing. π¦΄
Wait for direction. Trade the direction. Stop overcomplicating it.
Most traders lose because they try to predict instead of react.
@Invest_Brandon This is next level. π₯
Portfolio secured puts + leap calls = asymmetrical upside with downside protection.
What's your criteria for choosing the strike , delta-based or technical levels?
@TheTradingChamp Strategy is the easy part.
Edge is knowing when to sit on your hands and when to pull the trigger. That's the mindset most traders never build.
@TindallOG Been there.
The tension between "let it run" and "lock it in" is real.
What helped me: scaling out. Take partials at 1:2 or 1:3, let the rest ride.
