Today, my thoughts are with the victims of Jeffrey Donaldson.

No one should ever have to endure what they have experienced.

It is difficult to find words that fully capture the immense courage they have shown, not only throughout this deeply distressing court case, but across their lifetimes.

I want to commend them for their remarkable resilience and strength in securing justice for the heinous criminal acts that were inflicted upon them.

Groups of masked men burning families out of their homes is nothing less than disgusting cowardice.

This has nothing to do with community.

This is outright thuggery.

The attack in North Belfast was heinous and wrong.

But there are dangerous attempts to exploit that to target and attack innocent people who are simply trying to live, work and raise their families here.

Racism, intimidation and violence are wrong wherever they occur.

There can be no excuse and no justification for these attacks tonight.

No one wants to see this on our streets and I again appeal for calm.

@NSixtysomething @MatthewOToole2 He can rightfully blame both parties when the opportunity arises but in this particular instance only one party was in the wrong only one party should be held accountable. Assigning blame to SF to try get in a cheap dig undermines his scrutiny in this particular case.

@arran_hibbert Michelle O’Neill is an Irish citizen as is her right set by the GFA. Connolly is the Irish President who represents Ireland and her citizens at home and abroad.

Sinn Féin’s MPs abstaining from parliament represents their constituents, as that’s what they were voted in to do.

I have written to Tánaiste Simon Harris following the heartbreaking death of 9 year old Harvey Morrison Sherratt.

Previously, as the child’s life-threatening scolisis deteriorated, Simon Harris assured me that he would meet with Harvey’s parents to discuss their son’s urgent situation. That meeting never took place.

The state completely failed this bravest, strongest and most courageous boy & his family. First by the intolerable delays in his treatment, and then by the Tánaiste’s failure to follow through on his commitment to meet the family.

Simon Harris must now urgently meet with Harvey’s parents, Stephen and Gillian, and explain face-to-face why he broke his important promise to them. It’s the very least they are owed having lost so much.
