🚨New in AER🚨: "Negative Control Falsification Tests for IV Designs" (@DanieliOren, @DanielNevo, Itai Walk, Bar Weinstein, @danzeltzer). https://t.co/3Go8Ax1AHX
Common placebo test implementations may reject valid IVs.
We're coming to save your IVs! 🧵
Excited to share that my latest paper, in which I measure the mass of the galaxy DF9 and find that it is the third galaxy ‘missing dark matter’, is up on arXiv at

Once again, we plan to spend the summer in Boston (around July 12 - August 22). We are looking for a place to stay (2 adults, 2 children, and an infant). If you hear of anything, please let me know! @DanieliShany
TAU's School of Physics and Astronomy hosted two groups of ninth-grade students from Givat Fureidis School, participants in an excellence program.
The visit aimed to bring students closer to the world of science, provide them with their first academic experience, and encourage young people from peripheral communities to consider pursuing studies in STEM fields, particularly physics.
The day began with a series of short lectures in physics, astrophysics, and other scientific fields. Dr. Adi Ashkenazi, a senior faculty member and experimental particle physicist, opened the morning by speaking about the scientific path and life in research. Graduate students then led the lectures, showing the students what real scientific research looks like in practice.
Later, students participated in a hands-on physics experiment in the lab—a free-fall experiment—under the guidance of astrophysics PhD student Sundus Mohsen Tanib, with support from the lab team. It was the first time the students worked with real research equipment, experiencing a professional experimental environment firsthand.
The day ended with a fun demonstration of ice cream preparation using liquid nitrogen, conducted by the lab team: Kobi Yakubovich, Dani Moshe, and Elkana Benkovich. The activity captivated the students and provided a tangible, engaging illustration of the power of science.
The students left inspired, curious, and joyful, sharing that the day “opened their minds” to future academic studies, especially in physics, astronomy, and the sciences. We received heartfelt positive feedback from both the students and the school’s educational staff.
We are honored to have Oren Danieli (@DanieliOren), Tel Aviv University School of Economics, join the Editorial Board of The Review of Economic Studies. His distinguished research will enrich the journal’s editorial vision.

I am still in denial. But in general, we will rebuild. Not only the lab, but also society and our country. The first thing that needs to happen is elections as we need a new leadership.
My lab was totally destroyed tonight by an Iranian missile. Nobody was hurt. Flies, plasmids, cells, equipment - all gone. Heart breaking. If during the course of the past 16 years, you have received something from my lab - please keep them safe.
