Women often never get to show their true potential/qualifications when they lack the confidence from people telling them they never deserved to be there. And as a woman in EE, I can assure you there is no shortage of men in the field.

It’s attitudes like this from people in positions of authority in STEM that give women even more imposter syndrome problems than they already had. The same reason when I was directly admitted into the EE program at UW, I was told (many times) it was because I was a woman
