It really does suck when you try to call out someone you actually kind of respect and either get a bad response or none at all.
I wouldn't trade in any of my identities for anything, but ngl, being multiply marginalized sucks.
I was fairly fortunate as far as my accommodations.
My parents are white. Middle class. Good school. Small town. There was job flexibility to go to SO many meetings.
It is known, @recitrachel is a kid-lit community treasure. For her b'day, I want to donate a bundle of books to a library in need, in her name.
Is that you? Follow her, tweet me.
I'll pick a library to get @ca_london @Bibliogato & @cindypon's duologies on Friday. US only.
I've been largely quiet about the season four episode of Queer Eye but I will say this, If you're not a disabled Black person I don't care about your opinion on the matter.
So many folks didn’t even mention he was a Black disabled man when they started talking about this episode. This nuance is IMPORTANT. Cultural factors can’t be separated from someone’s interpretation of their disability.
I'm pescetarian bc of factory farming.
I'm also a disordered eater.
Guilt will probably send fish into the "no" list.
I'm not saying "Don't call out hypocrisy."
I'm saying "TW/CW your stuff."
I'm all for going after the real industries putting plastic in the ocean.
But when you casually, jokingly, etc say "I hope you don't eat fish."
Remember folks have eating disorders/disordered eating.
