@northwoods1980@FootAndAnkleMD 1) with few exceptions, Stener is not X-ray diagnosis. 2) Nonop will fail if Stener is present, MRI/US can exclude that lesion. 3) literature supports that you practically can’t worsen the UCL or induce a Stener not already there.
@northwoods1980 For me, suspected thumb UCL gets X-ray (to see any avulsion fragment, which would change the fixation strategy in OR), and side-to-side fluoro stress views to make diagnosis of tear v sprain. MRI (or U/S) iff patient wants nonop, to exclude Stener.
