Here's a video on Toronto from a channel that focuses on how to do infrastructure for a real society.

Very similar to our own situation, as well as that of many other places in North America.
Want to learn a bit about what happened recently in other provinces when they privatized surgeries? Here's a brief episode from 2019 from a good podcast covering just that.

Ministry of Education (who is also responsible for Child Care) sent a memo out last week directing centres to deny school age children space during the school day.
Because it is all about the kids, right?
Lecce gives not a fig about kids or families or clearly anyone’s rights
If you're in a position to individually call out of work explicitly in solidarity, please consider doing so. If you're in a union that isn't striking yet, contact your union steward and talk to your fellow union members to make it happen.
I'm sleepy, so in lieu of a big thread here're some pics and a reminder to get to a picket line tomorrow!
Toronto would the most effective one to join since Guelph's MPP is on CUPE's side, but most won't have the option.

If you know someone who's been affected by the strike and are able, reach out to see if you can help with taking care of kids or anything else folks may need.
When you are thinking about a #GeneralStrikeON, consider adding raising #ODSP and #OW in your list of concerns. People “live” on a lot less, are at risk for homelessness and deserve to have safety/food. They currently need all of us, pushing together to make @fordnation fix it.

CUPE-OSBCU picket locations for Friday 8am-4pm: Mike Schreiner's office (173 Woolwich St, Guelph) and Ted Arnott's (181 Andrew St E, Fergus)
@GuelphmarketC@MikeSchreiner You can contact CUPE beforehand to see if they need any logistical help or supplies, but they ought to be fine for this initial moment. The longer a strike action goes the more material and logistical help strikers will need, though.
@GuelphmarketC@MikeSchreiner That'll vary depending on the circumstances and one's ability. Labour actions have historically varied a ton in terms of tactics and intensity. Friday is a threat, a show of potential force. It's about crowd size and not much else, so sitting ought to be just fine!
Is war reenactment a phenomena unique to The West? I'm speaking from ignorance but I feel like there's no such thing as "American War Re-enactments" in Vietnam, for example.
Is there any work done on this societal oddity that someone could point me at?
This is the beginning. It's a victory for all #Guelph residents that half of elected councillors accepted my Vacancy Tax Challenge & give full or qualified support for a vacancy tax. Thanks all who voted for change and all who put their name as a candidate to make a difference.
