@mofomat @PaulCliftonBBC I’ll say it again for clarification, I felt that the headline was written in a way to cause division and outrage. I never declared that I was outraged.
Just added info about the application process for the reading audience.
An innocent comment, unfortunately misinterpreted.
@mofomat @PaulCliftonBBC What you decide to be relevant or not is absolutely your opinion.
I personally feel that talking about the application process that every candidate has to pass is relevant, but that’s my opinion.
I also feel that people from all walks should get the chance to try if they wish.
@mofomat @PaulCliftonBBC I was responding to the headline from my first comment on the OP, as I felt it was written in a way to cause division and outrage. I was not implying anything, merely stating the fact that the test is indiscriminate. I have not ignored anything, just engaged with that headline.
@mofomat @PaulCliftonBBC Clearly is an interesting choice of word. The attention grabbing tag line is “Train drivers overwhelmingly middle-aged white men”. My opinion is that it clearly leans towards a suggestive and divisive narrative. Either that or it could be just poorly written and misinterpreted.
@PaulCliftonBBC @SouthernRailUK Then I really don’t understand the point of the article? If you hadn’t been aware of this then I fine, but having that knowledge and still point out the correct yet irrelevant details of the study seems inflammatory at best. Highlighting successful applicants age and race for?
@PaulCliftonBBC @SouthernRailUK To become a train driver, you have to pass a Pyschometric test. It’s a day of varying tests, observations and an interview. It’s hard to study for, you can only attempt it twice. It’s designed to identify the applicants that are suited to the role, fairly and indiscriminately.
@virginmedia Just going round in circles. Phone them, follow instructions, sent a link by sms. Follow instructions, instructed to chat online which isn’t working or phone them. And repeat.
I need an engineer, to find out why I’m only M125 but should be M250. Then to sort the black spots out
@virginmedia I literally have nothing that is wired. Everything is wireless. I have reset the hub today and then followed the steps and had Virgin reset the hub remotely.
@virginmedia I just ran the test and got this. Also, I’m not sure about the financial contribution paperwork, but I do have the name and contact details of the salesperson.
@virginmedia 1. Pay for 125 and with volt should be getting 250. Barely getting 60 on a good day
2. If not in the room with fibre optic router, have to use mobile data throughout house
3. Promised a financial contribution towards cancellation fee with previous provider, never materialised 🤷🏻♂️
@Togetherdec@MayorofLondon “We can’t pick and choose the law as that we want.” Whilst talking about a law, that was chosen by politicians to affect the people. Not chosen by the people. The irony 😅
