Undertale monsters did not initially turn to dust upon being slain, but would instead be sent to an optional trophy room. This feature was short lived, as playtesters spent hours obsessively examining their "fine specimens".
There was a whole rhythm game cambrian explosion several years ago because of fnf and Sony didnt do even 1 thing with Parappa, like what is wrong with them
Help me, I've been thinking about "the new Link" all day, its way funnier than it should be
It's like "y cant metroid crawl" in reverse
It's like saying "Hey guys, I just preordered the new Marcus"
My normie, ball-and gun gamer coworker who asked me this morning if I was "getting the new Link" STARTED that very conversation by telling me how excited he is for the new Kirby, speculating with me on whether its gonna be a collectathon or open world.
Smash Bros. Brawl's story mode literally opens with Mario vs Kirby. Call it Sakurai bias if you want, but the big wigs at Nintendo could've stepped in at anytime to say "no, we need to do Mario vs Link instead," and they didn't.
I think that says a lot.

Kirby has BEEN a pillar IP for Nintendo since Smash 1. I think all the og 8, save for Star Fox, have remained so since.
And even then, people lose their shit whenever a new Star Fox is announced, even though its less "YES I LOVE THAT SERIES" and more "yay that guy from smash"
my best advice to folks who want to become artists is just to do it. so much time is spent thinking and theorizing about stuff that could've been spent drawing. keep it fun. draw and draw and draw and if you truly love art you'll keep drawing.
now i will contradict myself by theorizing and giving my thoughts π€: you're gonna suck ass if you've never drawn before. it's just a fact. sucking ass is awesome. how many times have you played a game like rimworld or something where sucking ass and learning is part of the fun? it's that way for art too, it's just different because people have ego tied up in it. accept the suck and the unsuckitude (when it is eventually achieved) will feel much better.
praise is nice to receive but praise can only really motivate, it can't help you improve (most of the time anyway). on the other side of the coin, receiving criticism can be extremely helpful but it can also demoralize. i recommend trying to surround yourself with people who are nice but aren't afraid to tell you if something looks bad.
how do you learn? there are millions of tutorials online. it's easier to become an artist than ever. just don't buy a tiny tablet for your first one if you want to do digital art. your wrist will thank you.
i recommend gravitating toward works that feel fun. what is fun for you can wildly vary from what is fun for me. even if you're just drawing shitposty doodles or memes, you're going to be learning. hell, tons of artists have gained lots of skill and popularity from being meme makers. you don't have to be rembrandt to be successful and happy with your work.
@drawligator I think it's because the concept of sleepovers and platonic friendship between young boys and girls is so uncommon nowadays, a lot of people assume they must be siblings when looking at the left image
@Tei_long@GameHistoryOrg -last game sold and reviewed poorly
-Konami bought out Hudson
-Konami mostly just makes gambling machines now
-Namco has a monopoly on 3D fighters that Konami's too scared to challenge (hopefully Virtua Fighter changes that)
I love when they release a bad remaster of an old game on steam, so when you try to get the old, better version from an abandonware site, it just tells you "duuuh, this game isn't abandonware! You can buy the NEW version on steam! Go to steam! Support the billion dollar company!"
Real conversation between me and a friend.
Them: "That's a cute keychain! Is it an Eevee?"
Me: "No, it's actually a fennec fox."
Them: "What are they from?"
Me: "Real life."
@Dellikuri@7Negative_Creep You hand that kid a turn based game like Pokemon, and they're gonna wonder "why do I have to use a dvd menu to fight? Why is there a random chance to miss? Why can't I avoid the bad guy's attacks?"
That last part is half of why so many non-rpg fans enjoy UTDR and Mario RPGs.
@Dellikuri@7Negative_Creep Simple, they just find it boring.
If you grew up just playing the typical action games kids enjoy like Mario/Sonic/Lego/Minecraft, you're gonna want to stick to what's familiar: the instant gratification of "run around, press A to jump, and B to hit whatever's in front of you."
