“International events” is a vague label.
If you’re specifically referring to the disruption to energy supply chains and therefore energy costs and the resulting cost push inflation such as fuel prices, it’s important to know that this only adds a bit over 0.3 percentage points directly to headline inflation and around 0.2–0.25 percentage points indirectly over one to two years.
However, underlying (trimmed mean - this is the real metric that the RBA care about) inflation was already elevated near 3.3–3.6% before any international conflict.
Perhaps add some context and elaborate if you wish to correct your original statement.
When you're not changing, you're choosing.
You're choosing what's familiar and what's comfortable. It's not what you want, but it's what you're used to.
The moment you commit to change, you're going to feel uncomfortable. This is the moment you go from the known to the unknown.
That moment is where the magic lies.
I've never seen a time where everyone has an emotional-based opinion on matters of which they have very little knowledge and will defend these views with vigour and vulgarity.
It's a sad state of affairs we find ourselves in 👎🏼
Today I stumbled across this hidden gem just 5 minutes from where I'll be building my new family home.
As I edge closer and closer to 40, I am more aware of the legacy I want to leave for my sons. I want them to see first hand that life can be whatever you make it, you just have to believe it and then take massive action.
The one thing I've really learned is to not be one-dimensional. So many men define themselves as "label" (usually their career choice), yet they often fail to diversify their skills, income sources and dreams.
Fellas, do more.
You care too much.
You care more about what others think than you do about yourself. You’re bending over backward to fit into their mold when you haven’t even bothered to carve out who you actually want to be.
Visualize the person you want to be. Then act as if that person already exists. Stop talking about it. Start living it. Show up on time. Do what you said you’d do. Hold yourself accountable. The habits. The routines. The mindset. You need to align them with the person you claim you want to be. Demand more from yourself.
The person you want to become isn’t just a dream. They’re a collection of daily actions and decisions, built through consistency and focus. Start acting like the person you want to be right now. And if you don’t, don’t be surprised when you’re still stuck in the same place, wondering why nothing’s changed. If you want to be that person, you have to become that person.
Get more aggressive with the sh*t you want out of life.
Stop f*cking waiting for the right time or the right opportunity. The right time is now, and the right opportunity is the one you create for yourself.
The next 10 years are going to pass regardless.
How do you want to look back at the end of it?
Keep in mind it's not about inflation as much these days, the market theme has shifted. Cuts are designed to be stimulative and lead to growth. Growth with small inflationary implies within the target range are perfectly fine.
We shall see how it all plays out over the coming months.
Tao Te Ching 📖
Within this book are some very powerful words to meditate on. It covers so many aspects of life.
I highly recommend it if you're interested in philosophy.
@ConquerFx What's your connection? Family business?
I love knowing about outside of trading interests of others because so many define themselves as a trader and have little value outside of the industry.
