Helium's big buyback is a big deal. You already know this, but here's my take on why:

5.7M $HNT is equal to about 2.5% of the total supply, and 3% of circulating.

It cost them ~$15M to buy it (based on the market rate at the time). The fact that @helium chose to do this is an indication that...

1) They care about their community,

2) see consistent downward pressure on price as obviously unappealing to said community and deployers,

3) view the $HNT token as more valuable than what they purchased it for (in it for the long haul), and

4) specifically pledged even more transparency surrounding buybacks.

Oh, and they hinted at another big thing coming.

Helium is moving fast, growing faster, and is clearly staying focused on what matters, which is their community.

They recognize that hotspot deployers are their network. They're taking care of you.

How many other telecoms can you say that about?
