Family Historian, Royalty talker, Director of Content in Europe for @MyHeritage. #Genealogy & #History lover. Opinions all my own, for better or worse.
For those of us still yearning to recapture that lost glory of happy, likeminded connection, learning and conversation, I'm giving threads a go. You can find me at https://t.co/TA20r9BusQ #History#genealogy#familyhistory
@trivvieliz @MarianBWood I'm on there too actually - https://t.co/TCNCkdMuXt hopefully we don't scatter too much, but I'll be lurking around and seeing how things develop.

@greg_jenner Had seen you'd moved over - I think that's the final impetus I need to do the same. Following you over there now and happy to continue the happy little bubble of history and merriment away from all the chaos and mudslinging.
Ladies, form an orderly queue! an 1865 appeal for a wife from Maine, USA - he has 'a good set of teeth', his 'buckwheat looks first rate' and he wants to buy you all the bread and butter you can handle...
@greg_jenner One of the most surreal and funny things I ever heard was him as Roald Dahl on the Dead Authors Podcast, attempting to wing it through his whole life story.
@spookyjulie I had forgotten about that! All clocks remain in place. The house is exactly as you remember, if you need any mid century Sicilian decorating inspiration for the new flat...
So proud of my grandparents celebrating their 72nd wedding anniversary, still inseparable after so long. Love is like a cough, it's impossible to hide.
@JohanGamper Who's to say where things will end up - It doesn't seem as friendly a place as it once was, but then perhaps that's true of the world right now, and makes it all the more important that we try to put a little positivity into proceedings.
Twitter is a place full of great highs and lows, I urge you not to leave and let the lows win - in case the worst happens, I'd love to keep distracting you all by sharing all kinds of #history & #genealogy with you. You can now also find me on Mastodon - https://t.co/cccdO5olen
@Rokewood @thehistoryguy I've never seen this book - Is it worth a read? My Ancestor was one of the ringleaders in 1820 (James Clelland - fourth on the list to be executed, first to be commuted to transportation), do they give much on him?
So much fun 'time travelling' this week with the @MyHeritage AI Time Machine. Absolutely mindblowing technology, and wonderful to see myself traipsing through the eras. Try it yourself here for free - https://t.co/Qy4oCz3pe9
@michaelidermark@MyHeritage It does depend on the pictures you use to teach the computer - try to use all 25 (even if you have to crop out others) and try to get as close to the guidelines as possible for best results.
@KarenK4Justice 18th Century French Aristocrat, Arctic Explorer, Viking and British Army General I think. There were certainly some that weren't quite there (though you can see what they were going for), but the great ones more than made up for it.
