Today, we witnessed the business equivalent of Washington stepping down. An orderly and rational transition of power at the top of one of the world's most important companies. And it was done in true Berkshire fashion. I felt the energy of Warren Buffett's final brushstroke course through the 40,000 person crowd and seal his wish of trust in his chosen successor, Greg Abel. An incredible day in business history! $brka $brkb
"I think happiness makes an enormous amount of difference in terms of longevity," Buffett said in a 2023 interview. "And I'm happier when I'm drinking Coke or eating hot fudge sundaes or hot dogs."

“If it makes a difference to you whether your stocks are down 15%, you need to get a somewhat different investment philosophy…
“The world is not going to adapt to you. You are going to have to adapt to the world.”
“What has happened in the last 45 days is really nothing…this has not been dramatic…
“There’s been three times since we acquired Berkshire that Berkshire has gone down 50%. Nothing was fundamentally wrong with the company at any time.”
- Warren Buffett on investment psychology at $BRK AGM 2025
Buffett on markets, cash, portfolio management, and opportunism.
“ I wouldn’t do anything nearly so noble as to withhold investing myself just so Greg can look good later on.”
- Warren Buffett…
…on the conspiracy that he’s built $330 billion of cash to give a blank sheet to his successor, Greg Abel.
Says he would happily invest $100 billion tomorrow, but “the one problem with the investment business is things don’t come along in an orderly fashion.”
The old man has still got it. Worth the listen.

BREAKING: Warren Buffett moments ago at the 2025 Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholder meeting just came out against Trump's Tariffs in a major way:
"There is no question that trade can be an act of war. It has led to bad things — the attitudes that it has brought out. In the United States, we should be looking to trade with the rest of the world. And we should do what we do best and they should do what they do best. That’s what we did originally. We were good at producing tobacco and cotton 250 years ago and we traded it. We want a prosperous world but eight countries with nuclear weapons, including a few that I would call quite unstable, I do not think it’s a great idea where a few countries say ‘hahaha we won,” and other countries are envious."

And yet it took 20 minutes just to walk to the end of the line at the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting this morning.

The Alamodome in San Antonio is hosting its fifth Final Four this weekend.
Initially built for an NFL expansion team, the Alamodome doesn't have a marquee tenant yet is one of the only venues in history to host an NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL game.
Here's what you need to know:
1. The Alamodome opened in 1993 at a cost of $186 million (or $410 million when adjusted for inflation).
However, unlike most stadiums, the Alamodome was built without debt, as San Antonio implemented a half-cent transportation tax before construction started.
2. The Alamodome sits on a tight plot of land between a railroad track and a highway, so architects had to build the stadium more vertically than usual.
Stadium architects also eliminated all view-obstructing columns inside the venue by building a unique cable-supported truss system using steel cables fabricated in Europe and shipped to the United States.
3. The court for this year's final four was custom-built from maple hardwood sourced from Michigan.
The court arrives in 381 panels, each measuring 4-by-7 feet and weighing 165 pounds. It takes the arena staff about 4 hours to assemble all the pieces.
4. The NCAA makes a lot more money by playing in a football stadium rather than a basketball arena.
A 50,000-seat difference at $200 per seat translates to $10 million in additional ticket sales per game.
5. The Alamodome typically loses about $2.5 million annually, but last year, it turned a small profit ($329,000) on $20 million in revenue.
The city is okay with this arrangement because it has generated billions in economic impact over 30 years.
6. San Antonio says over 100,000 people will visit the city this weekend for the Final Four, spending $50 million on hotels and generating a total economic impact of up to $400 million.
