@PrimeSamButler@Chrisvano1997@AFL@CalTwomey Not likely. In theory I think he shouldve left last year. If anything it’s better for Ess to trade him this year, as they’ll have far greater use of the capital he will attract.
If Haw do land Humphrey, they wont have the picks to get it done without player movement elsewhere.
@PrimeSamButler@Chrisvano1997@AFL@CalTwomey Good thing you’re not a list manager, then.
In the context of last years draft, considering the amount of Academy and FS picks, the picks Essendon already had and Essendon’s available list spots, the package offered for Merret was extraordinarily mediocre.
Just further to my last post on the Essendon coaching job, I understand the lure of Hird's return for Essendon fans (I am one). But in a hypothetical choice between him & John Longmire, I honestly don't see how you can possibly argue he's a better candidate, given Longmire's 63pc W/L over 300+ games, 5 GFs, a couple of successful refurbishments of the Swans, and his constantly vouched-for integrity and strength of character. I honestly can't think of a better-credentialled coach for what would be a mammoth task.
As for the "needs an Essendon person" theory, it shouldn't need saying (but clearly does) that...
(A) "Essendon people" (not just in the coaches box) have caused a lot of the club's grief these past two decades. Perhaps the perspective of a proven coach from a consistently successful and well-run club might be the way to go?
(B) Developing emerging talent and winning games of football creates momentum and passion of its own at ANY club, and...
(C) A certain Kevin Sheedy was a Richmond playing great who had no official connection at all with Essendon (other than following them as a kid).
Anyway, just some passing thoughts right now, I'm sure there'll be more as the soap opera that is the EFC continues.
@rohan_connolly I feel like all pre-season, everyone was spoken about in depth except him. Real under the radar operator, but he’s shown a lot so far this year. Really stoked with him.
Very, very, very rare David Rodan blunder. To the letter of the law, it’s a goal. He was knocked over so his view was relatively impeded.
However, this 100% should’ve been an ARC review. David isn’t solely to blame.
But Geelong lose so haha sucked in.
I have a particular fondness for Koalas because there’s so many where I live, and I can see them up close pretty much every day.
Something like this is shattering. They’re such beautiful, friendly creatures. Seeing so many of them wiped out in the fires was horrifying.
During the devastating Australian bushfires, a brave woman rushed into the flames to save a severely burnt koala. The little marsupial was crying out in agony, its body scorched and fur burnt, struggling across the road surrounded by fire. 🐨❤️🔥
Without hesitation, she took off her shirt, wrapped the koala gently, poured water over its burns to ease the pain, and rushed it to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. The heartbreaking cries of the koala moved the world, while this selfless woman became a true hero and symbol of compassion in the face of disaster.
@superfooty Archer May, the bloke already alongside Nate Caddy, is having a much better year than Walter and is already showing staggering amounts of improvement month-on-month. Unless we turf the likes of Langford or Perkins, I’m not sure where he slots straight in.
