Excited to share years of hard work. Here we demonstrate that interferon-α directly contributes to breaching multiple immune tolerance mechanisms through direct actions on B cells, likely contributing to the early immunopathogenesis of lupus.

Great time working on this project. We demonstrate that immersive virtual reality and cadaveric bones are equally effective in skeletal anatomy education. Excited about the future of medical education!
Our latest crossover RCT in @JSurgEduc demonstrated that immersive virtual reality and cadaveric bones are equally effective in skeletal anatomy education. Majority of students preferred a combination of IVR and cadavers for learning anatomy. #VR#MedEd

I want to share what I think about MDs. I love each and everyone that busted their ass, borrowed too much money, sacrificed more than we can ever quantify, in hopes of helping their patients. Medicine is an imprecise science. The uncertainties far outnumber the absolutes.
Observation: It is increasingly difficult for the general public to understand current infectious disease threats here due to well-organized disinformation campaigns, misinterpreting & over-interpreting of data by some, overconfidence, meaningful debate & general uncertainty.
A resident just told me they had missed their family’s Thanksgiving dinner because they were here at the hospital, and then said: “But my family is used to me never being there.”
🙏🏼 to our loved ones for your patience & flexibility and 🙏🏼 to all those working this weekend!
Incredibly humbled to be recognized for my teaching, administration, and contributions to CTU @McMasterIntMed!
Thank you @LessMartsMD and @DrLoriWhitehead for the opportunity and mentorship along the way - I am forever grateful for what you've taught me.
"The empirical findings suggest a global post COVID-19 condition prevalence of approximately 0.43 (or 43%)."
I'm glad there is increased awareness of the longterm effects of covid--we also need to consider the broader social & health system impacts.

A teary-eyed patient thanked me profusely for the care that I and the team had provided to her and her family today. It reminded me of the emotions I felt when meeting with my mother's neurosurgeons. Today I was reminded of why I went into medicine. What a privilege.
