This discussions stems from Hypixel Studios 2025 not wanting to release on Steam as people would see "Early Access", buy it & play it, see that it is NOT FINISHED and truly in EARLY ACCESS, and then review bomb it as they are uninformed on the development of the game and think it's.. unfinished...
People expect Early Access titles to have a completed game loop and hundreds of hours of content when it releases.
Early Access is UNFINISHED and a WORK IN PROGRESS. The review-bombers would stain the store page and by the time the game is in an actual fun and playable state, people seeing the game for the first time would be thrown off by the negative reviews.

That isn't even the only reason they're not releasing on steam, as they need to see if Steam can even support the "future ingame modding browser and tools." There's so much work to be done on Hytale still, keeping it in their own hands is just better for them.

I seriously don't understand why so many people are complaining that it isn't coming to Steam.

The game is not finished, or in a state many people deem to be "early access" worthy (which is ridiculous), and he's releasing the game to get it into the hands of people who have wanted to play this game for years. He paid millions of dollars for this, he can release it in whichever state he wants to.

If you think this is 'stealing peoples money' don't buy the fucking game you idiots.
