Based on the retrieved documents, Galesburg, Illinois shows a long record of UAP reports spanning from 1950 to 2012. Here is a chronological summary:

Historical/press-documented cases (Gross catalogs):

6 August 1950 — Near Galesburg at Lake Storey (~3:00 p.m.), Clayton Johnson, his wife, and Mrs. Kenneth Kemp reported what looked like "a brightly polished, stainless steel ball" while picnicking. Johnson said it hung motionless for about five minutes, then darted side to side, once traveling in a circle before departing toward the quad-cities. This was part of a broader "rash" of quad-city sightings that day [7] (GROSS-1950-Aug-Dec-SN.pdf).
5 November 1957 (4:30 a.m.) — A farmer's wife, Mrs. William Steagall, reported a "fiery orange," cigar- or egg-shaped object hovering in the pre-dawn hours before disappearing to the northwest; she was awakened by a neighbor's dog barking [8] (GROSS-1957-Nov-3-5.pdf).
NUFORC-cataloged reports:

1967-03-16 — An oval, saucer-shaped object described as a "close encounter," lasting 2–3 minutes [9].
2002-05-20 — Two fast, small yellow orbs, ~5 seconds [11].
2005-03-07 — A bright light that grew larger (NUFORC noted it was probably an Iridium satellite) [10].
2008-09-21 — An unusually bright light crossing the sky, ~1 minute [6].
2008-10-23 — A fireball that "didn't seem like a meteor," 5–7 seconds [5].
2008-12-31 — A small black, pointed object flying straight with no exhaust or sound, ~1 minute [4].
2009-06-20 — A cluster of lights (formation) crossing the sky just before sunrise, ~4 minutes [3].
2010-09-28 — Three witnesses saw a gray oval object being pursued at high speed by a jet, 3–4 minutes [2].
2012-03-16 — An extremely fast dark rectangle with two amber lights moving south to north, 4–5 seconds [1].
Overall pattern: The reports vary widely in shape (steel ball, cigar/egg, oval/saucer, fireball, orbs, formation, rectangle, black pointed object) and duration (a few seconds to several minutes). A recurring theme is high-speed, silent objects, with two of the more notable cases (1950 and 2010) describing objects displaying unusual maneuvers or being paced by aircraft. Note that document [12] (UFO Evidence 1964.pdf) is a general NICAP summary and does not specifically address Galesburg.
