Lebaran kemarin dia bawa istri dan 2 anak mudik. Pesawat jam 6 pagi.
Berangkat dari rumah jam 3 subuh. Anak-anak setengah tidur di taksi.
Sampai bandara. Check-in. Duduk. Tunggu.
1 jam delay. 2 jam delay. 5 JAM DELAY.
Yang diadapat? Snack box dan air mineral.
Tiket Rp1,2 juta × 4 orang = Rp4,8 JUTA. Delay 5 jam. Kompensasi: BISKUIT.
dia kesal. Tapi diam. Karena GAK TAU haknya.
Sampai seorang bapak di sebelahnya bilang: "Pak, Bapak tau gak? Kita bisa dapat REFUND FULL."

Calls have been made inviting American Buddhist monastics of all traditions to join the Theravadin monks.

Will we see more turn out?
I believe so, the Walk for Peace may have ended, but the journey into peace has just begun for many millions of Americans.

I felt sharing the story of Ajahn Siripanyo will bring light to great monks who follow the spiritual path of the Dhamma and their commitment.

Ajahn Siripanyo is the only son of the late Ananda Krishnan, one of Malaysia's wealthiest tycoons with an estimated net worth of over US$5 billion. His father's business empire spanned telecommunications (Maxis), media (Astro), and energy. Despite being groomed to take over this massive legacy, Siripanyo chose to walk away from material wealth at the age of 18.

His path to monastic life began almost by accident during a visit to Thailand to pay respects to his mother’s family.
The "Temporary" Retreat: At 18, he decided to temporarily ordain at a Buddhist retreat for fun and curiosity.

What was meant to be a short-term experience transformed into a lifelong commitment as he found profound peace in the simplicity and discipline of the forest monk tradition.

For over 20 years, Ajahn Siripanyo has lived as a forest monk, strictly adhering to the Thai Forest Tradition. He currently serves as the Abbot of the Dtao Dum Monastery, a remote hermitage located near the Thailand-Myanmar border.
