I'm glad Musk can speak his mind, but his changes to this platform mean that many others without his privilege don't feel safe or respected enough to speak

For me holding a space open for all is a balance between defending people's right to abuse and people's right to not be abused.

'Cancel culture' generally goes too far one way.
Musk seems determined for the opposite extreme.
Both seem naive/unhelpful.

It's just that I personally see his vision as naive & dangerous, so I'll be seeking not to support it
Also find his entitled abusiveness reflective of what he's creating, so plain prefer being elsewhere 🙂

We're capable of talking to each other without them, and the conversations on Mastodon seem better.

The deliberately designed lack of virality is inconvenient in some ways; great in others!

@tomschloegel PS re: "too many possibilities", it is completely beyond me why anyone would join Bluesky, Threads etc to build new capital in another place with the same principles, just as vulnerable to being bought up and trashed 🤷‍♂️

@tomschloegel There's a 'Facebook' equivalent and an 'Instagram' equivalent and all, but the beauty is that you can message/follow/share directly between them all, just like you can between different email providers.

Twitter, Facebook etc prefer to try to keep us locked in. Let's just leave.
