I think our sword attacks finally started to feel like they’re actually cutting through the air.
Just blood effects, camera effects, animation using a single sprite, knockback, hitstop, and a bit of air distortion. Nothing too complicated.

Darkest Path passed 1000 wishlists on Steam!
This happened right after yesterday’s sword strike clip, so thank you so much to everyone who checked out the game, shared it, or added it to their wishlist.
We posted a small update in replies.
@aXelis_gamedev Yeah, it needs a bit more of polish. It’s a bit hard to adjust since we’re doing it all by simply changing the size, rotation, and position of a single image. Still, we’ve made good progress compared to the old version in the trailer.
@asapin_dv Yeah, the whole point of the crosshair is to show you the enemies you can attack. You're right about the bat; that part needs a bit more polish.
