I have a ticket for Vegas D3 (27th) that I am selling at cost. It is near where the boys go in and out.
I can meet the person to exchange. Price I paid is $296.06.
Row 1. You don’t have to stand unless you want to.
Arirang deserves Album of the Year.
SWIM deserves Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
BTS deserves to sweep the main categories and take home awards for
Best Pop Vocal Album
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance
Best Music Video
Best Asian Pop Performance
At the least.
My son was just listening to ‘Come Over’ which he had put on of his own accord, I assumed because he knows mom loves BTS… and then he said, “Yoongi needs to write more songs.”
I blink. Brain frozen in a loop of surprise and confusion
He continues, “between this one+
and ‘Dear My Friend’ they’re really good.”
I’m still frozen but finally snap out of it and say, “Yeah, his writing and producing is definitely amazing.”
He then puts on ‘Amygdala’ and starts humming.
My brain freezes again, because since when did he like more than Jin’ songs?
"Aliens" is the ultimate, unapologetic power move from a group that has officially outgrown the need for Western validation.
Grammys treating BTS like 'ALIENS' in their own industry is exactly why the song 'ALIENS' had to be made. It’s a brilliant, sarcastic flip-off to overt industry gatekeeping that proves BTS doesn't need mainstream validation, they define their own narrative.
I’m BTS first. Always.
Long before I became ARMY, I had strong opinions about how the US industry has treated minorities and marginalized artists.
BTS didn’t create those concerns for me, this is a decades long issue of abuse.
Honestly, one of the reasons I became ARMY was because I knew exactly what BTS would be up against in the U.S. industry.
I knew their talent alone wouldn’t protect them from bias, double standards, or being underestimated.
They would need massive support here and I wanted to be a part of that for them. That support matters.
BTS built their success differently. It wasn’t handed to them by a U.S. label. It wasn’t created by industry connections. It wasn’t some manufactured push.
It was BTS + ARMY.
Our support gives them something most artists never get: the freedom to make their own choices without depending on industry gatekeepers.
So with all the conversations, new categories, and award season drama starting to heat up, my focus stays the same:
Whatever BTS decides to do, I’m with them.
100%.
This is shaping up to be a messy and controversial award season, and more than ever, we need to stay focused, stay united, and keep supporting them the way we always have.
I actually need to know @theestallion, are we ever getting a live version of this with RM, or maybe even an alternate MV with yall both starring in it???
I need it so bad and this is a hill I’m willing to d word on. Thank you for the consideration.💜
Can't wait for the @RecordingAcad to announce:
Best North American, English-Speaking European and UK Pop Performance
Because if Asian artists need a dedicated category, then surely artists from the US, Canada, UK and Europe should as well.
Unless, of course, the point is to keep calling one group "Asian" and the other group "normal."
The Recording Academy looked at BTS 2.0, then looked at Western pop acts and said:
“Yeah… we’re gonna need another category.”
Dearest Western Pop Acts,
If I were you, I’d be deeply offended that over 13,000 voting music professionals don’t believe you have what it takes to be in the same category as BTS.
