Trump posted this. Blasphemous? In the extreme.
But you know who I blame for this more than Trump? Word-Faith/NAR preachers who have been surrounding him for years. Paula White compared Trump to Jesus just last week. Two of the most prominent SBC pastors, Robert Jeffress and Jack Graham, have given their full support of Paula White. Trump attended Las Vegas International Church some years ago and "Pastor Denise," had Trump come on stage and she said of him, "What I hear the Lord say, 'This is my Son in whom I am well pleased.'"
She not only compared Trump directly to the Son of God, but claimed God as the source of her information. Sheer blasphemy.
Trump is no theologian. These Word-Faith/NAR charlatans and heretics claim to be. And shame on Robert Jeffress and Jack Graham for supporting them. In doing so, they participate in their sin.
@faith_reform@JustinPetersMin@malachiobrien Justin is saying that if these “preachers” can truly heal the sick, they should converge on St. Jude’s and heal every patient there. They won’t because they can’t.
To every parent of a prodigal:
Don’t give up.
Toxic influences will fall.
Lies will lose their grip.
We have to believe - God still opens blind eyes.
He still breaks chains.
Truth will rise.
Grace will find them.
Love will lead them home.
@WWUTTcom As a Christian, you absolutely cannot make such a weak blanket statement. There are many God honoring parents suffering through this with their teen/adult children. They are praying for God to deliver their kids and praying for His comfort. Repent of this bad take.
@YourCalvinist HS Band Director here! Superior Theology, funny videos, and a former band kid? I knew you were cool, but this takes it to a new level! 😀
The person on the left is a female. The person on the right is a male - but note very well that he is NOT a man. Real men don't beat up women.
He is a male coward who deserves to be shamed and shunned.
And any male who would support this sick, twisted display of depravity is not a man either.
Period.
So many are saying God intervened and saved former President Trump's life. I get the sentiment, but I do not believe God intervened here - or ever, for that matter. Let me explain....
To say that God intervenes is to imply that most of the time God is up in Heaven twirling His anthropomorphic thumbs without very much to do. Every once in a while, He sees things getting a little out of balance and off-kilter so He reaches down to "intervene" and get things back on the right track.
But that is not the picture scripture paints of God. God is not only the Creator of the universe, but He is also its Sustainer. Hebrews 1:3 states that Christ "upholds all things by the word of His power."
Every atom in the entire and incomprehensibly vast universe is being held in its proper place this very moment by the constant exertion of God's power. There is never a time when God is not working. There is never a time when He is not sustaining. If God were to ever cease working even for a single millisecond, the entire universe - right along with you and me - would experience instant de-creation. Everything would cease to exist.
Did God protect Trump's life yesterday? Yes, of course He did. Was that His intervention? To be theologically accurate - No. It was one fleeting moment and one tiny expression of His unceasing work, providential rule over and ongoing sustainment of His own creation.
Selah.
