In a striking show of regional integration and shared economic ambition, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Mozambican President Daniel Chapo convened in Sofala Province to officially launch phase two of the Companhia do Pipeline Moçambique/Zimbabwe expansion. The high-profile groundbreaking marks a turning point for Southern Africa’s energy infrastructure, paving the way for a 67 percent increase in the Beira/Feruka petroleum pipeline’s annual throughput. By deploying modern, high-capacity midstream assets along this critical corridor, the two countries are cementing the Beira trade route as the essential bulk fuel gateway for the landlocked heartland of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
The multi million dollar expansion hinges on two state of the art pumping stations sited at Nhamatanda (Sofala Province) and Messica (Manica Province). When fully commissioned, they will lift the 294kilometer pipeline’s annual throughput from 3 million cubic meters to 5 million cubic meters a 67% increase that directly responds to surging sub regional demand for refined products such as diesel, petrol, and jet fuel. Critically, the upgrade sequence is engineered to tie into the existing 10 inch line without halting operations, keeping daily fuel flows uninterrupted throughout construction #ZimMozambique, #VakaZim

This timeline signals a move from framework agreements toward a bankable transaction, resolving technical, commercial and financing questions in sequence
That extra load isn't just straining your vehicle it's gambling with lives. Overloading reduces your ability to stop, steer, and react. It wears down tyres, damages roads, and puts everyone at risk, passengers, pedestrians, and other drivers. The weight you carry isn't just cargo; it's responsibility. One overloaded trip can end in tragedy. Check your limits, secure your load, and drive within capacity. Because no delivery, no deadline, and no shortcut is worth a life. Pack smart. Drive safe. Stay within limits. #RoadSafety #Overloading #DriveResponsible
@WillKapungu@MhonaFelix@MinistryofTID@tscz1 Absolutely true. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Overloading can turn an ordinary journey into a tragedy within seconds. Let’s respect vehicle limits, protect passengers and other road users, and make responsible driving a priority. No cargo is worth a human life. 🇿🇼🙏🏽
