“Thinking is only a small aspect of consciousness. Thought cannot exist without consciousness, but consciousness does not need thought.”
—Eckhart Tolle
People ask why I say Canada is heading toward communism. Open your eyes.
A government that decides who lives and who dies. A media that buries what matters and amplifies what serves power. Elections nobody trusts anymore. Leaders who get richer while you get poorer.
Communism doesn't arrive with a flag and an anthem. It arrives with "trust us, it's for your own good." It arrives when the state decides it knows better than you — about your health, your money, your kids, your vote.
The difference between a free country and a controlled one isn't dramatic. It's gradual. It's every small surrender of power you never get back.
Alberta votes October 19th. That's not just about separation. It's about whether anyone in this country still believes power belongs to the people.
“…. Pleasure puts you to sleep and pain wakes you up. If you do not want to suffer, don't go to sleep. You cannot know yourself through bliss alone, for bliss is your very nature. You must face the opposite, what you are not, to find enlightenment."
~ Nisargadatta Maharaj
Compassion is of little value if it just remains an idea. It must motivate how we respond to others and be reflected in all our thoughts and actions.
—Dalai Lama
“Children are deeply affected by the state of consciousness of their parents. That is why your own awakening is the greatest gift you can give your child.”
~ Eckhart Tolle
Measuring your progress against others is a sure fire path to constant disappointment. Measure your progress against where you started, where you’ve been, where you were yesterday. It’s far more rewarding and informative to evaluate yourself against yourself.
Train your mind to pause and observe, not react. Not every thought needs attention. Not every emotion needs a response. Give yourself a moment. Breathe. Pause and watch what’s happening inside you. The pause creates space between what you're feeling and what you choose to do next. And that space is where self-control lives.
You can't fix how people perceive you. You can be your most honest self and still be misunderstood. Nobody sees you for who you actually are. People see you through their own experiences, insecurities, and expectations. Let them. And stop trying to change what they think of you. Protect your peace, and just stay true to yourself. That's all that matters. Let them think whatever they want.
You will get there. I promise, there is still so much ahead of you. But right now, you are here. And this moment, this messy, imperfect, beautiful here is worthy of being lived too.
