@PhysicsHawk It reveals that things which use the same medium we think in (speaking for Feynman and visualization for his friend) interfere with our ability to perform that action. EX: If someone understands what they read by saying it mentally, they cannot also pay attention to music.
@PhysicsHawk Feynman's method was better because he repeated the same experiments multiple times with small variations to see if what he believed about his results was correct. He also attempted to rule out variables not covered by his initial test with subsequent versions.
@PhysicsHawk What is wrong is that he made too many assumptions along the way. He only performed one experiment without repeating it on different people to see if his initial assumptions were correct, and many of his later assumptions had no experiment to support them whatsoever.
@PhysicsHawk I used to think that I wouldn't like pokemon because I wasn't used to the style of game and I thought that the battle system (strengths and weaknesses) would be too complicated. Seeing my friends always talk about it and play it convinced me otherwise, and I now like pokemon
@PhysicsHawk I would look to design a system where most things could be tested all at once (components tested individually then as an engine) to cut down as much test time as possible without detracting from test quality. When a new piece can't be made to work, try to make a reliable one fit
@PhysicsHawk I think the current issues we see with aggression in politics is the result of press propaganda, stubbornness, and cancel culture. Now, the press serves to argue for issues instead of enlightening people. Also, people are taught to silence dissenters instead of considering them.
@PhysicsHawk Most people don't think about a rocket engine being cold during the launch. They typically worry about it being too hot with the ignition for launch. It takes a team of truly creative people to find all the problems, and they're never all found on the first check.

@PhysicsHawk Yeah, it's easy to pretend like nothing bad could happen because nothing bad has happened, but that's just inviting disaster. It's much better to prepare against possible disaster than to pretend that disaster is impossible.
@PhysicsHawk It's a cover up, in my opinion. Nasa management didn't like how critical Feynman was of their unreasonable safety estimates and didn't want bad publicity.
@PhysicsHawk It plays out through a series of subsequently better solutions. We may find one solution to a new problem that isn't terribly efficient, so we have much to gain by exploring the unknown, especially if the problem has never been solved before.
@PhysicsHawk Doubt prevents things from stagnating. If society is completely sure of their way of baking a cake or writing a book, new types of cakes and books won't be produced. The same applies to science. If people hadn't questioned phlogiston, we wouldn't know about hydrogen.
@PhysicsHawk There's always a value in learning something, because, although it might not be useful now, it can help later. I'm sure during his time, people didn't care that Eratosthenes figured out the world was round. Now satellites and navigation depend on the idea.
@PhysicsHawk Well, one of the big ones for me is architecture. To create massive buildings, there need to be planners, builders, inspectors, material providers, material gatherers, cooks and farmers to feed the workers, more builders to make housing for the workers, etc.

@PhysicsHawk Cuttlefish are pretty crazy. They have the ability to camoflauge almost perfectly into their environment even though they are COLOR BLIND! Somehow, by focusing their W-shaped pupils a certain way, they are able to distinguish wavelengths without truly seeing color.

@PhysicsHawk One obvious example is the project which Feynman was tasked to complete with science, the atomic bomb. I believe the bomb is an example of how science was used for evil in the construction of an efficient killing device, though some may argue it was good because it ended the war.
