@physics_lmonath@PhysicsHawk I think this is so true. You have to dig and put work into finding something you are interested in learning about. I think always asking question is a great thing to do even when you don't understand something and you feel like everyone else does asking questions is beneficial.
@PhysicsHawk I think letting our minds wander and learning about what we are naturally want to learn about. I think our brains our inclined to increase the number of things that they can build on because I often find myself losing interest and revisiting something several months later.
@PhysicsHawk I think this reveals that each person has their own weaknesses and strengths in their thinking process. I think that my weakness is reading because I can talk and count at the same time but reading and counting my mind has to jump back and forth.
@DarthLuiLePasta@PhysicsHawk I have never thought of visual vs auditory learners as using different mediums to perform actions. That it certainly an interesting way to think about thinking. I struggle to read because I have to read something say it mentally and then picture what is going on.
@JelianaJossy@PhysicsHawk I agree that Feynman's experiment was more better but addressing an experiment from multiple different perspectives and running it more times may not always mean more accurate results.
@PhysicsHawk Feynman's experiment on time was better because he experimented several times on several control groups. Not just one person who was ill. He also backed his conclusion with scientific data and assumed far less. He also took into account more variables.
@wilson23_kt@PhysicsHawk I feel like the fact that she was sick also made his experimental data less reliable in a way because he is making an assumption about all healthy humans based off an experiment on a sick human.
@PhysicsHawk What is wrong is that the conclusion of the experiment was made based one person and that person was also ill. Also, the conclusion was based on an experiment that had no control groups. The experiment was also based on assumptions which mean it could be heavily routed in bias.
@PhysicsHawk My thinking has been changed by my friends as we have grown up because as we have grown up we have been given things that are harder to work on My friends have helped me grow in the way I think about getting big task done by sharing their motivations with me.
@Emily_Physics @PhysicsHawk I think this is something very important to learn and understand. It can be easy to get caught up in the rat race of life comparing yourself to others but if you can understand this it is easier to look and go about your life in a Christ-like manner.
@Emily_Physics @PhysicsHawk This is smart but flawed to a certain extent. If military order were forced to be checked over by engineers and scientist every time a general commanded his men to do something risky, wars would not get fought and more innocent deaths would most likely occur.
@PhysicsHawk A system that balances safety first but is overridable by goals is the way the world has somewhat worked and needs to work. New cars have automatic emergency braking which puts safety first but it is overridable in event I need to accomplish a different goal. (i.e. Hit and run)
@physics_lmonath@PhysicsHawk I think the spread of COVID-19 is due to many issues. It is frustrating when people try to pin the entire problem on one singular problem. No problem occurs because of one thing. The evil of the world is purposely complex to lead us to one simple solution and that is Christ.
@physics_lmonath@PhysicsHawk I agree blaming poverty or homelessness on one specific issue is not fair. That is part of the evil of the world but that doesn't mean we should stoop from the opportunity to help. Even if it won't fix the whole problem, fixing one problem is better than none.
@wilson23_kt@PhysicsHawk It is easy to see why NASA or SPACEX is not super hesitant to cancel a launch at the last minute due to weather concern. It is also very apparent why meteorologist are necessary in launch control rooms.
@PhysicsHawk I believe it shocking just how the malfunction of a simple piece of rubber or plastic could cause such a failure. I now realize the importance of the operating temperature of electronic and mechanical items that I buy and why it might be listed there.
@e_smith160 @PhysicsHawk I think it is sickening that companies act like the hero when they don't react to small problems until the public's attention is draw to it and they are forced to fix it. A disgraceful example was NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament weight room.
@PhysicsHawk Ignoring the risk happens often in corporate America. A great example of this is the Boeing 737 Max. Oversizing the engines to make up for increase passenger load instead of redesigning hence changing the center of gravity and leading to the mess up of the not overridable MCAS.
@_hannahmorriss@PhysicsHawk I agree. I think NASA did not want the public news sources to make a big deal over NASA's mess up and it was somewhat of public relations cover up.
