I don’t know how to fight this. But if you need support in finding/funding access to safe medical care, please reach out & know there are so many women who stand with you & believe in your right to privacy, bodily autonomy, & equitable healthcare.
Saw a “pro-life” acquaintance post about his wife’s recent “medical procedure in response to her miscarriage.”
Abortion. The medical term for that procedure is abortion.
Today, her right to that medically necessary procedure is not protected. Women will die because of this.
“A recent study estimated that banning abortion in the U.S. would lead to a 21% increase in the number of pregnancy-related deaths overall and a 33% increase among Black women, simply because staying pregnant is more dangerous than having an abortion.” https://t.co/N0Qddkwxo5
Kids love garbage trucks so much that “making kids happy” is deemed part of the job of a truck drive: “It makes you feel like a rock star.”
Seems children and truck drivers make each other happy every day. https://t.co/qhCk3xk4bU
"If I told you about a school that has produced 25 Rhodes Scholars, 45 Goldwater Scholars, 24 Truman Scholars, and 64 Fulbright Scholars, you’d probably think I was talking about an Ivy-League school. Actually, that school is West Virginia University..."
@sadie_sea I think there are SO MANY benefits to learning from instructors with degrees outside of the edu field!!!! My fear would be with little administrative oversight, they will hire *less* qualified instead of differently qualified teachers.
@sadie_sea I also believe most specialized schools (FAME anyone??) are just singularly focused public schools, not charter. I could be 100% wrong but that is my understanding!
@sadie_sea Jumping in bc I also want to hear from our awesome teacher friends! My understanding is that charter schools, while publicly funded, do not have to adhere to same guidelines as public schools i.e. many don’t require teachers to be certified.
