The basic problem in Pakistan is the existence of colonial-era laws. All major laws, like the Pakistan Penal Code 1860 and the CrPrC 1898, are still used with the same years printed in all forms without any shame. Our lawmakers and lawyers are too incompetent to draft new laws.

1. The military does not want permanent peace wth India, for obvious reasons.
2. DMG/PAS bureaucrats do not want true democracy at the local level.
Both are too powerful for the politicians to negotiate peace with India or reform colonial systems.
