The Dasher Who Sees Both Sides Of It. Silicon Valley day job and food delivery side-hustles. Opinions come in two sizes: tweet & @therideshareguy article.
@ODDprofessional I hear you, but I feel like if you Dash in an area for any amount of time, you can kinda figure out, "Oh this restaurant is pretty good, and I'm going to this neighborhood....it'll take me about 30 mins."
If we never Tweet one another again, may I leave you with this: consider orders in $/delivery time, not $/mile. It's a better metric. Thank you, and God Bless.
Drivers! Please be extra careful tonight, particularly near your deliveries. Lots of kids and parents crossing streets in dark clothing and in costumes that might obscure vision. Safety first!! ๐
So DoorDash is telling me I can earn the same rate over 40 hours as I do in 5 hours? FURTHERMORE, even โhoursโ is only defined by the assignment to completion time, not waiting. Blatantly dishonest.
@DeliveryWoes Iโm not nearly talented enough to fake these earnings reports. If youโre looking for a corporate hack masquerading as a driver, you found the wrong guy.
Takeaways after another six months away:
* Probably 21/25 were no-contact. Speeds up deliveries.
* No need for me to text customers with arrival. The app provides all that info.
* Late into the night just head towards McDโs and JITB and wait.
