Twice within hours, Russia struck civilian buses in Zaporizhzhia. Three people were killed, while over 10 passengers, including children, were injured. These were ordinary people travelling through the city when Russia deliberately targeted civilian transport.
Today, Russia also launched a missile strike on Dnipro, attacked Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs, struck emergency responders in Nikopol, and hit the Sumy, Odesa, Chernihiv, and Kherson regions.
In Kharkiv, one person was killed and at least 12 were injured after Russian guided bombs hit a civilian enterprise, damaging a tram and railway tracks.
These attacks are part of Russia’s systematic campaign of terror against Ukrainian civilians. Every additional air defence system and every interceptor missile delivered to Ukraine means more lives protected. Strengthening Ukraine’s air defence is one of the fastest and most effective ways to save civilians from Russia’s terror.
APPLEBAUM: Putin presented a fake image of Russia to the world. He talks about himself as leader of traditional society.
In fact, divorce rates are very high in Russia, abortion is very common, very few Russians go to church, and less than 5% of Russians have ever read a Bible.
So it's not an especially religious or traditional culture, but Putin has made himself the face of that idea because it's politically advantageous.
He uses it both to build support, to court, and to win over sympathizers in the West, and maybe he uses it at home as well.
It looks a little bit like how in the 1930s Soviet communists also sold a vision of the Soviet Union to Americans and Europeans about how marvelous it was and how they had discovered a new kind of political system.
If you've never been to Russia, Russia is a large country, it's far away, so you can imagine a lot of things about it. You can create a kind of imaginary Russia, an imaginary Soviet Union.
Especially if you only visit Moscow and St. Petersburg, like most tourists do. But most of the people who admire Russia haven't even been to Moscow and St. Petersburg.
It's very similar today. You have a part of European right and American right who have this imaginary Russia that they use as a symbol, without understanding that it has no relationship to reality.
Danylo Yefimov, 21, eats once a day in a Russian prison and can no longer keep down normal food. He won't treat a wisdom tooth, because inmates say guards beat prisoners before every hospital trip.
His crime was sending 130 dollars to a Ukrainian army charity, hromadske. 1/
@ghostofRoc The evidence of gang rape of children by Russian invaders is too numerous
One can only assume these people grow up in a culture surrounded by evil
Russian soldier admits his unit raped girls as young as 10 & 11 yrs old in Ukraine + forced mothers to watch - just before executing all 3 on orders from his commander
He confesses this happened multiple times as they found civilians hiding in basements
@JayinKyiv Laughable bringing up the burning of Atlanta held by the confederates and burned by Sherman's army in a war aimed at reunited the United States and freeing people from centuries of slavery.
This is an insane story. The DOGE whistleblower who said that login attempts were made to the NLRB from Russian IP addresses minutes after DOGE got access had his brake lines cut and photos of him walking his dog from a drone taped to his door after Musk attacked him on Twitter
Folks here is USA Hockey's contact information. Emails, phone numbers, lots of people who need to hear about how abhorrent this is. It's supporting genocide and those who help Iran kill American soldiers.

While Russia bombs Ukraine and kills civilians, President Trump is bizarrelysending a delegation to a conference in Russia to discuss economic development.
I challenged Secretary Rubio today to explain why we would send any U.S. official to a such an event designed to prop up Putin's war machine.
Every day, ships leave this russian owned factory in Ireland straight for St Petersburg carrying thousands of tonnes of raw alumina for the war machine.
There’s corruption everywhere. Locals tell me politicians are bought by oligarchs.
Ireland is no longer militarily neutral.
A reminder, all the big American influencers will be in Russia this week.
They say they're going to see the "beautiful churches". Nothing to do with the massive crypto payments they will recieve for promoting Putin's nonsense.
